New York City is infamous for its second hand shopping and upscale resale thrift boutiques.

A favorite area of FMG is for an enjoyable day of eco-shopping is SoHo. Every other street offers a well curated boutique with second-hand gems and vintage classics.

If you are in the mood to update your wardrobe with fashions from the last few

seasons, pop into INA where designer consignment is top notch. Looking for a more laid back environment? Head to Second Time Around (STA).

INA will have all your designer desires covered as they only accept and showcase designer labels, while STA offers every day labels and the more affordable prices to go with them.

You know that quest you have been on for, um... well your whole life... to find amazing designer pieces from seasons past- those Mui Mui shoes in the purple suede, or a classic Chanel blouse with the shell buttons- look no further because Tokio 7 has it!

An unspoken treasure in the East Village that fashionistas whisper to one another as they pass by on the street- Tokio 7 lives up to its name. Designer fashions stuff the racks, shoes and bags overflow from the shelves and it is all so good! You can hardly believe your eyes and then immediately shift to praying the lovely specimen you’ve spotted is your size.

And because it is run by a diligent Asian family, you always get real designer clothing and accessories. Linger too long with a ‘just looking’ expression on your face and they will shoo you on to another area of the store!

Lately, they’ve expanded to carry one of a kind fashion t-shirts, which as every New Yorker knows, is a huge staple!

The word about Tokio 7 is slowly making its way out, so don’t go on a weekend and try for early afternoon to avoid the crowds. Take your time- there is more than you can manage to sort through and narrow down your purchasing. We suggest you come with a list!

Tip:

Shop second- hand, thrift and vintage shops on your own. You are far less likely to be persuaded into a purchase you won’t actually wear by a well-intentioned friend.
