MariTrends 2016LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear PVA Members:
On behalf of the Officers and Board of Directors of the Passenger Vessel Association please accept my welcome to the PVA Annual Convention at MariTrends 2016.
A wide array of informative educational sessions and special events await you at this year’s convention. Each session, seminar, roundtable and special event offers you a “world of ideas, information, tips and contacts” tailored specifically for the passenger vessel industry.
This outstanding convention is the result of the hard work of our 2016 Convention Committee. I would like to personally thank Willem Polak, Charlotte Hall, John Lake and John Colburn of Potomac Riverboat Company, Alexandria, VA, Bob Lawler, Entertainment Cruises, Boston, MA and Bob Cox, Port Supply, Annapolis, MD for all of their work in making this convention program so strong. Also, thanks go to Rob McMahon, Pinnacle Marine, Inc., La Crosse, WI for his work on the Passenger Vessel Foundation fundraising events.
As you know, the MariTrends 2016 Exhibit Hall is the “gathering place” for our convention. I encourage you to take advantage of all that is presented there by our loyal and knowledgeable MariTrends 2016 exhibitors.
I encourage you also to take advantage of the Industry Specific Conferences scheduled throughout the convention--the PVA Sales and Marketing Conference, the PVA Ferry Conference, the PVA New Technologies Conference and the PVA Green Waters Conference.
In addition, the ever-popular “Lunch and Learn” roundtable discussions will be held on Monday, January 25, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., during the MariTrends 2016 Exhibit Hall Lunch. These roundtables are small, informal gatherings of PVA members to discuss important issues of the day.
This year’s President’s Closing Dinner and Awards Ceremony, scheduled Tuesday, January 26, aboard the Entertainment Cruises’ Spirit of Washington will be an event that you do not want to miss. Viewing Washington D.C. from the water is a spectacular experience.
Thank you very much for attending the PVA Annual Convention at MariTrends 2016. I believe that you will find this convention to be excellent. While you are here, please let me or any PVA staff member know if there is something that we can do for you to make your convention a complete success.
Sincerely,
Dave Anderson
2015 President
