SmartAssist-Direct

SmartAssist-Direct (SA-D) is a computer based electronic diagnostic tool designed to connect to many of the newer YANMAR Electronically Controlled engines. This training will benefit any technician that works on YANMAR Equipment including but not limited to Tractors, Construction Equipment, Industrial Engines and Marine Engines. The SmartAssist-Direct training will give the technician the basic information to start diagnosing failures on YANMAR Electronic Engines. We will start with the basic operation of the tool and finish with how to generate reports for warranty and service. This training is open to all dealers. It is highly recommended that dealers bring their own tool to the class. If the dealer is not able, a tool can be provided for the training session.

The technician will work on live engines and be able to see faults, live data and all functions of the SA-D.

Proper operation of this tool will save time and money.

Some of the areas to be covered are:

• Basic Tool Operation• Saving Files• ECU Information• Diagnostic Codes and Troubleshooting• Diagnostic Tests and Interpretation of test

results

• Data Logging• Historical Data• System Settings on Marine Engines• ECU Reprogramming (Flash)• Trim Data for Injectors and Pumps

Each technician will connect to at least one engine during the training to see how to download operational data, trouble codes and make adjustments.

When the technician returns to the shop, they should be able to operate the SA-D tool and be able to provide failure information to the customer. This will greatly reduce down time and repair cost.

This training will be provided during the 6LY3, 8LV, JH-CR, TNV engine training classes and during the S190R-1, S220R-1, S270V-1 Skid Steer training class. There is no extra charge for this training.
