National Teaching and Learning Change Programme (NTLCP) was one initiative of this strategy.
• Designed to transform teaching and learning in selected areas, using subject learning coaches

• Provided support for leaders, managers and teacher educators

The Teaching and Learning Programme (TLP) builds on
the achievements of the NTLCP.

QTLS and CPDQTLS and CPD
Qualified teacher learning and skills (QTLS)• September 2007: all teachers and trainers required to
register with the Institute for Learning (IfL)• New and unqualified teachers and trainers must have
a recognised level-5 teaching qualification within five years (detailed regulations)
CPD• Full-time teachers and trainers must demonstrate 30
hours’ CPD per year; part-time ones must demonstrate a minimum of six hours

• In March 2005, the e-strategy was published by the DfES
• A delivery plan for the strategy was published in January 2007 by Becta, who lead the implementation of the strategy
This new vision of the e-strategy is:‘that individuals maximise their potential through
the personalisation of their learning and development’.
