Performance and properties

Laboratory tests done by DuPont and a third-party test institute instructed by DuPont have been conductedon commercially available samples of filtration media made with DuPont HMT. Air permeability data havebeen measured according to ISO 9237 on new filter media which have not been exposed to dust. Filtrationdata have been measured according to VDI 3926 test method on samples after they have been submitted to 10’000 dust loading cycles. According to VDI 3926, filtration performance of DuPont HMT is comparableto ePTFE membrane in respect to dust leakage and air permeability, but at the same time it offers a lowerpressure drop and longer filtration cycles which could translate into important cost saving benefits for theend-user in regards to reduced energy consumption and longer filter life.

Air permeability of DuPont HMT is comparable to ePTFE

membrane when laminated on polyester felt.

Dust leakage of DuPont HMT on PET felt is much lower than

coated and uncoated PET felt, and comparable to PET felt

laminated with ePTFE membrane.

DuPont HMT on PET felt has a lower pressure drop than

other commercially available filter media tested.

DuPont HMT on PET felt has a longer cycle time than other

commercially available filter media tested.
