UAB Pajûrio Mediena was established in Klaipëda in 1994. Main business trend of a Lithuanian-Canadian joint-stock company Pajûrio Mediena processed log cutting, drying and planing of lumber. From such material boards are produced for flooring, panelling and various products used in construction of which 97% were exported.

For such activity, LPK awarded the joint-stock company Exporter of the Year title three years in a row: 2001, 2002 and 2003.

The plant produced 16,000 -18,000 m3 of lumber per month and provided each customer with a specification desired.For example, lumber produced according “imperial” measurements is sent to North American market, metric system – Europeanmarket, and Japan according their standards.

Wood chips produced in a process of planing were not thrown away, but sorted out and suitable for pulp production exported to Sweden. There were 110,000 m3 of chips worth of 8.13 million LTL sold in a year.

All planed and calibrated lumber was sorted at all stages and graded with special markings. Head formen, formen and employees of all shops were proficient in all grading rules. Grading inspectors from WCLIB (U.S.A.) and BM Trada (U.K.) checked grading quality every month and every 6 months respectively.

Sawdust, bark and chips that were not suitable for production of pulp were burnt in the company’s 24MW boiler where the company produced heat and electricity.

Due to internal re-organisation, the company recently ceased production and the plant is now available for sale – as a whole or as individual lines / machines.
