Exercise 4 - Dublin Core in XML Worksheet Part One Name: Melisa Martinez, February 26
th, 2013
In this section, you will need to encode by hand the metadata for Digital Image 2 from Exercise 3. The
root elements are provided for you (in bold font), so don't worry about adding anything further to
them or changing them in any way. You will need to enter the opening tag, the element value, and
the closing tag for each element. You will also need to repeat some elements. The Title element has
been completed for you as an example. Refer to the Guidelines for Implementing Dublin Core in XML
(http://dublincore.org/documents/dc-xml-guidelines/index.shtml) to complete this part of the
exercise.

Part Two
In this section, use your metadata for Digital Image 3 from Exercise 3 and plug it into the Advanced
Dublin Core Generator at http://www.dublincoregenerator.com/generator.html to create qualified
DC XML metadata. Under the "Output Options," make sure all of the boxes are checked. The
"Desired root element" can remain metadata. Paste your results below.
