DISCOVER DUBLIN ! – Worksheet 7 Hello! I'm Sophie. I live in London but I'm Irish, because I come from Dublin. I was born there. Do you know this city? My aunt and uncle live there and I often visit them during the holidays. Ireland is a beautiful country and Dublin is the capital city with more than 520,000 inhabitants. Let's visit it together!!!
In Dublin, there are many things to see. There is a great park in the south of the city: St Stephen's Green. We can also visit Trinity College. It has a beautiful park and we can admire the Book of Kells in the college's library. It is a 1194 year-old book written in Latin. Opposite Trinity College, we can see the statue of Molly Malone in Grafton Street. She is a mythical figure from a famous Irish song. If you like castles and churches, we can go to Dublin Castle and St Patrick's Church in the south west of the city. Finally, let's have a walk along River Liffey if it's sunny!

Gaelic Football is a combina+on of football and rugby. It is played between two teams of fiJeen players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objec+ve of the sport is to score points by passing the ball through the other team's goals (3 points) or a set of two upright posts separated by a crossbar 2.5 metres above the ground (1 point). Gaelic football is the most popular sport in Ireland because there can be 82,300 people in Croke Park Stadium in Dublin to see the Finals!!!
