Bungay PIg Club:
Total NO.s to end Jan: 41
13 shares including a total of 32
people with family members,
friends (6) and business people (3)
Thanks to Eastfeast inital electric
fencing allowed this group to make
the decision to go for it. All
members have learnt a lot about
pig rearing, the issues facing pig
famers, how pig butchery works
and the art of making sausagesand cooking different recipes.
A Quarter of a pig worked out at
70 and sourcing local food / food
waste would help reduce this
further.
The Three 'large black' pigs names
Magic, Pudding and Velvet werejust over 6 months and stayed with
us from the end of weening at
2months of age.
Bungay pig club are now looking for
a new venue and have learnt that
collaborative ventures are fun and
'priceless'. Future clubs could
involve chickens and vegetables as
well.
If you are interested in pig clubs getin touch via Dano from Eastfeast.
There may be some fencing
available for your group?

Sustainable Bungay has a vibrant
community valuing local food. The monthly
'Happy Mondays Feast' are a great example
of coming together via food. Regular
attendances of 60 people.
Leslie pictured above is also managing the
library garden in 2013 with a theme of edibleplants.
Sustainable Bungay has not needed help
from Eastfeast but as with Bungay Pig Club
the Bungay Community Bees project doessee a link with Eastfeast and currently links
between Anglia Cooperative are being
explored.
