We’re a long-established (86 years), well organised family-owned and run company offering a personal, caring and friendly service to all customers. We have a huge range of product knowledge at our fingertips. Your holiday will be escorted by one or more of our team of friendly, expert drivers and coach travel will be on one of our own carefully maintained, comfortable vehicles.

Please remember that many of the items that are often provided at an extra cost with other tour operators are included in our holiday price. Our

tour prices are clearly laid out – most include free excursions and half board. Many tours include entrance fees (in some cases over £ 60.00 in value) The ‘Entrances included’ symbol denotes these tours. When comparing prices please remember that these items may only be available at a significant extra cost with some other tour operators. For example, many European flight packages do not include any excursions whilst you are in resort which can add a very large sum to the final cost of your holiday. Best of all you don’t have to pay to take your luggage or to pre-book your seat. your holiday claim your loyalty bonus by informing us on your booking form the booking references of other holidays booked. We are pleased to receive telephone reservations that are normally held for 7 days. Receipt of booking form, relevant deposit and insurance (if required) will confirm your booking. PAYMENT CAN BE MADE BY CASH, CHEQUE, DEBIT CARD OR CREDIT CARD. You will receive an invoice within 21 days of receipt of your booking form, showing the date that your balance is due, which confirms your booking. You will receive your itinerary, luggage labels and pick up times approximately 10 days before you are due to travel.

ITINERARY Included excursions are shown on each holiday page.

HOTEL CLASSIFICATION We provide details on each holiday of the grading of the hotel used. The grading is based on the star classification given in the country concerned. The grading system varies between countries, hence there will often be a difference between facilities and standards found in hotels with a similar star grading but located in different countries. We aim to give up to date hotel classification details but must point out that hotel classifications may change without our knowledge.

DISABLED PASSENGERS We make a special effort to help disabled customers and if you tell us about your disability when you book your holiday it will help us to help you. It is not always possible for our driver to provide a sufficient level of care particularly in the case of single travellers with severe mobility problems and we advise that single travellers with such problems have a travelling companion to assist.

WHEELCHAIRS AND MOBILITY SCOOTERS: - Transportation of wheelchairs and scooters is at the passenger’s own risk and we cannot be held responsible for any damage to them. Passengers must be able to assemble and dismantle their own scooters (into no more than 5 pieces) and each piece must weigh no more than 40lbs.

NEW FIRE REGULATIONS (from 1st October 2006): - Due to new Fire Regulations all hotel customers MUST be able to use the stairs to get themselves downstairs in case of emergency. Lifts cannot be used in case of fire and fire services will no longer be able to assist clients downstairs.

SPECIAL REQUESTS We make every effort to comply with special requests e.g. diet, ground or low floor rooms etc. Generally we find our hotels are very helpful but we cannot guarantee such provision. Special requests must be notified to us at the time of booking and also be specified on your booking form. Please remember that bedroom allocation is the

responsibility of the hotel and we cannot guarantee the position of any hotel bedroom.

SINGLE ACCOMMODATION Single accommodation is limited and we advise anyone travelling on holiday alone to book early. Where hotels charge a single supplement we have no alternative than to pass this on. We hope that where possible two friends travelling together will share twin accommodation. Once all single rooms are sold we may be able to offer a double room for single occupancy at a higher supplement

CHILDREN’S REDUCTIONS Children’s reductions are available on most of our holidays, providing the child shares a room with two full fare-paying passengers. Please enquire for details at our office.

NEXT OF KIN We require a next of kin contact for all single travellers so we can contact them should it be necessary.

INSURANCE Travel Insurance is not included in the holiday price but may be purchased as an optional extra on all of our Holidays. Whilst it is not compulsory for travel insurance to be taken out for our British holidays it is highly recommended. We do however require you to take out a Travel Insurance Policy to cover Holidays taken to Jersey, Southern Ireland, Europe or Worldwide destinations. Travel Insurance premiums are payable at the time of booking. Please see separate section on Travel Insurance for more details. Your Travel Insurance Policy can be purchased from us or other providers.

WHERE TO GET ON OUR COACH We offer a Door-to-Door service for all holidays (see back page for details of our Door-to-Door area. Central pick-ups are also available at a discount (see back page for details). If you live outside our pick-up area please ring us to discuss a pick-up point.

FREE CAR PARKING can be arranged at our garage premises if you wish to join the coach there and leave your car for the duration of your holiday. (Cars are parked at owner’s risk).

FREE CAR PARKING We request that each customer has one medium sized coach weighing no more than 18kgs (40lbs). Where a holiday includes an overnight stay you may also wish to take a small overnight bag.

GROUP BOOKINGS Group discounts are available depending on the size of your group. If, as a group you have any special requirements we can arrange specialised tours to suit your specific requirements. Smaller group bookings are always welcome on any of our tours.

COACH SEATING There is a seating plan of the coach for each holiday, but it is possible that on occasions operational reasons will require a coach with a different configuration to be used. We therefore reserve the right to alter a coach-seating plan and allocate seats other than those you have booked. Requests for particular seats can be made on most holidays when booking but because allocations are made on a first come, first served basis you are recommended to book early.

HEALTH & SAFETY ON HOLIDAY Some people may be at risk from discomfort or deep vein thrombosis (DVT) if they remain immobile on a journey for a long period of time. If you are planning to undertake a coach journey of more than 3 hours you should consult your doctor if you have ever had DVT or pulmonary embolism, a family history of clotting conditions, cancer or treatment for cancer, a stroke, heart or lung disease or if you have had major surgery in the past 3 months. During the journey we will provide comfort stops as frequently as possible and during these stops you are encouraged to get off the coach and walk around.

PASSPORTS If you are a British citizen travelling outside the United Kingdom or to Jersey you must have a full UK passport valid for a minimum of three months after your scheduled date of return.

MINIMUM NUMBERS We require a minimum number of passengers to book in order to be able to operate tours from this brochure. In the event that we do not receive the minimum number of bookings, we reserve the right to cancel the holiday. We will not make such a cancellation within 28 days from departure date.

SMOKING POLICY Bookings are accepted on the basis that smoking IS NOT permitted on our coaches.

INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF YOUR TOUR * Coach travel throughout (except flying holidays) with a reserved seat. * Services of your Driver/Courier who remains with you throughout your tour (with the exception of flying and cruising holidays) * Hotel accommodation as specified (all bedrooms are with en suite facilities). * VAT @ 20% on hotel accommodation and meals and zero-rated on coach travel (We reserve the right to pass on any variation in the above taxes). * Door-to-door pick-ups. * Excursions during your holiday (as specified on relevant holiday page). * Entrance fees on some itineraries (see relevant holiday page) * Return ferry crossing, road tolls etc.

NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF YOUR HOLIDAY * Holiday Insurance (optional on British Tours, compulsory on World - wide, European, Jersey, and Southern Ireland holidays). * Please note, if you choose not to purchase the insurance we offer, we will ask you to sign an indemnity form. Can you please provide a signed copy of an indemnity form. * Passport or Visa. * Entrance Fees (except as stated on relevant holiday page). * Items that are of personal nature i.e. drinks, telephone calls etc. * Optional excursions.

NATIONAL TRUST AND ENGLISH HERITAGE PROPERTIES Some properties visited are National Trust or English Heritage – if you are a member of either organisation and receive free entrance this must be stated at the time of booking so that a reduction can be given (reductions will not be given after departure of holiday)

Personal HolidayTravel InsuranceA holiday insurance policy is available for all passengers travelling on our holidays. This is arranged by Towergate Chapman Stevens and underwritten by ETI – International Travel Protection (ERV), the UK branch of Europäische Reiseverscherung AG who are Licensed by the Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BAFIN – www.bafin.de) and approved by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA – www.fca.org.uk) to undertake insurance business in the UK. Holiday insurance is optional, albeit strongly recommended, on all of our UK tours. It is however a mandatory requirement for you to have a holiday insurance policy in place if you are travelling on our tours to Jersey, Isle of Man, Ireland and Europe. You may arrange your own holiday insurance if you wish. If you do we will require you to sign an insurance waiver form. Should you wish to purchase the Holiday Insurance we offer, please include the appropriate premium when booking your holiday. Your premium should be forwarded to us together with your holiday deposit. The Cancellation section of the policy is effective from the moment that we receive your premium. The premiums, which include 20% Insurance Premium Tax, are as follows:

DEMANDS AND NEEDS This insurance policy will suit the demands and needs of an individual or group (where applicable) who have no excluded pre-existing medical conditions, are travelling in countries included within the policy terms and who wish to insure themselves against unforeseen events detailed in the cover section below. RESIDENCYThe cover under this policy is only available to United Kingdom residents being defined as: Any person who is staying in or has lived in the United Kingdom for more than 12 months, or if studying or working in the United Kingdom for more than 6 months.

HEALTH CONDITIONSYou must be able to comply with the following conditions to have the full protection of your policy. If you do not comply we may refuse to deal with any relevant claim or reduce the amount of any relevant claim payment. You are not required to declare your medical conditions. However to be covered for any medical conditions you have or have had, you must be able to answer NO to questions 1. To 4. and YES to questions 5. and 6. A) and b) below.

1) You are not aware of any reason why the trip could be cancelled or cut short. (such as the health of a close relative)2) You are not travelling:a) Against the advice of a medical practitionerb) For the purpose of obtaining medical treatment3) Have you been given a terminal prognosis4) Are you receiving or awaiting treatment for any bodily injury, illness or disease as a hospital day case or in-patient.5) If you are on prescribed medication, are your medical condition(s) stable and well controlled.6) If you suffer from stress, anxiety, depression or any other mental or nervous disorder, have you received written confirmation (at your

cost) that you are fit enough to take this trip by either:a) A registered mental health professional (if you are under the care of a Community Mental Health Team), orb) A consultant specializing in the relevant field.Please Note – You must also notify Mediscreen immediately of any changes in medical circumstances arising between the date the policy is issued and the time of departure for the trip You may pay an additional premium to cover your medical conditions. This applies to all destinations including trips solely within the United Kingdom (being defined as England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isles of Scilly.)Mediscreen can be contacted on 0344 892 1698 and its office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.

SIGNIFICANT OR UNUSUAL LIMITATIONS OR WHAT IS NOT COVERED1. Cover is only available for the whole duration of a booked trip to a maximum 70 consecutive days, and cover cannot be purchased once a trip has already begun.2. The excess amount deductible from a claim applies to each and every claim, per incident claimed for, under certain sections by each insured person.3. If your money, valuables, any items of baggage, your passport or visa are lost or stolen you must notify the local police and obtain a copy of the report within 24-hours of discovery. Failure to comply may result in your claim being reduced or rejected.4. You are not covered for valuables, your passport or visa if left unattended at any time unless deposited in a hotel safe, safety box or left in your locked hotel room.5. You are not covered for baggage stolen from:a) An unattended coach / bus unless it was locked in the luggage compartment of the coach /bus and evidence of force or violent entry to the vehicle is available, orb) The passenger compartment of any unattended vehicle.6. The cover under this policy is only available to United Kingdom residents for travel to and from the United Kingdom and repatriation will be to the United Kingdom only.

COOLING OFF PERIOD You should read your policy immediately to ensure it meets with your requirements. If for any reason it does not it must be returned to Andrew’s of Tideswell within 14-days or before departure, whichever is less, of receipt of the policy documents. Your premium will be refunded in full provided no claims have been made. If you cancel your policy after 14- days no premium refund will be given.

The River Thames, the second longest in the UK, has many stories to tell. In this two-centre short break we reveal many of those stories as we take four very different, but equally relaxing cruises.

ITINERARYFRIDAY: A morning departure from your agreed pick-up point for your journey to Oxford where you take a journey on a Salter Steamers cruise from Christ Church Meadows. The journey passes through beautiful countryside with highlights including the Oxford University intercollegiate regatta course and the magnificent Nuneham House. We then continue our journey to your hotel for two nights. Dinner in hotel.

SATURDAY: After breakfast we make our way to Reading where we join our boat at Caversham Bridge for a two hour cruise to the delightful riverside town of Henley-on-Thames. As you pass through the countryside rich in wildlife, you will pass the immaculate grounds of Park Place and Holme Park on your way. There you’ll have free time to obtain lunch and have a look around the town. We then continue our journey by coach following the river through Marlow, Cookham and Maidenhead returning back to our hotel. Dinner in hotel.

SUNDAY: After breakfast we make our way to Kew where we take the Westminster Passenger service for a ninety minute journey to Westminister to the heart of the capital. On your journey you will pass along the course of the University boat race, passing Chiswick, Barnes, Putney, Battersea and Chelsea. In the afternoon there’s free time to explore before we continue our journey to our London hotel, where the evening is free for you to explore local restaurants and pubs.

MONDAY: After breakfast we take our last cruise from Westminister to Greenwich taking approximately ninety minutes passing several iconic sights including the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. You’ll have free time in Greenwich before continuing our journey to visit the

Thames Barrier Park where the views of the impressive marvel of engineering can been seen that has protected central London from flooding since 1984. We continue our journey home to your agreed drop off point.

The Ffestiniog Railway is the Oldest Independent Railway Company in the World. You travel by steam through the spectacular scenery of the Snowdonia National Park between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog.The Welsh Highland Railway is a new journey on a line through the mountains that closed in the 1930s. It starts at Caernarfon Castle, snaking around seemingly impossible bends, up hard gradients and around the foothills of Snowdon to arrive at Rhyd Ddu, high up in the Snowdonian mountains. Trains climb to the summit at Pitts Head before they ‘zigzag’ down the steep hillside to Beddgelert revealing new and unexpected views of the mountains at every turn. After Beddgelert it heads towards the Aberglaslyn Pass. Trains run beside, then above the fast flowing Afon Glaslyn before plunging dramatically into a tunnel through the hillside, through Pont Croesor and onto Porthmadog. The Welsh Highland Railway is probably the most exciting railway project in the country - providing access to some of the best scenery in the UK – it’s quite simply a must-see!

ITINERARY:-TUESDAY: A morning departure you head North to Aberdeen arriving late afternoon to our hotel (TBA). Dinner in hotel.

WEDNESDAY: After breakfast a leisurely day in Aberdeen before we board the Northlink overnight ferry to Lerwick departing at 17:00hrs. Dinner is served on board.

THURSDAY: After breakfast on board the boat you’ll rejoin our coach where we are greeted by a local guide. We will make our way for the Northern Isles comprising of Yell & Unst stopping at the vast Sullom Voe Oil Terminal for a photo stop before proceeding to catch the short ferry crossing to Yell. We’ll take the east coast road to Cullivoe with entry to the Old Haa Museum which is full of unusual artefacts from the lives of islanders. We continue across Yell and a short ferry crossing to Unst, with many beautiful beaches and home for decades to the RAF. Light lunch will be served at Baltasound Hotel, Haroldswick. See Muckle Flugga Isle, which is the most northern tip of the UK, for fantastic views, then onto Skidbladner to see a replica Viking Long Ship. We then make our way to the Shetland Hotel, Lerwick for two nights. Dinner in hotel.

FRIDAY: After breakfast we take a coastal tour towards Sumburgh Head RSPB, stopping at probably the best Beach on Shetland – St Ninians. Nearby, view cliff scenery,

golden beaches and seabird colonies. We continue to Jarlshof archaeological site, one of Europe’s largest and most complex sites spanning over 5000 years up to the 1600’s. Included is entry to the Croft House Museum. We continue after lunch to Tingwall Valley, before arriving in Scalloway, the former capital of the Shetlands, with its 15th century castle. You’ll visit the Scalloway museum before returning to our hotel. Dinner in hotel.

SATURDAY: After breakfast we make our way via Voe & Brae to the “Drongs” a spectacular series of sea stacks. Entry to Tangwick Haa Museum and a guided tour of Shetland Jewellery Workshop, where gold and silver is handcrafted using traditional Nordic themes. We continue our journey back to Lerwick via Wormadale viewpoint and Shetland museum before boarding the overnight ship. Dinner is served on board.

SUNDAY: After breakfast we disembark the ship, making our journey home arriving at your agreed drop off point in the evening.

You then have time for lunch before we continue our journey passing Lunan Bay to Montrose for a visit to Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre. Here pilots were trained here for the Battle of Britain but the station dates back to 1913. We then continue our journey back via St Cyrus before we return to your hotel for dinner. Dinner in Hotel.

WEDNESDAY: Departing after breakfast, we continue our journey through Holland, into Germany and north past Bremen and Hamburg. We cross the border into Denmark near Flensburg and continue to Kolding for a late check in, Dinner, Bed & Buffet breakfast.

THURSDAY: Departing after an early breakfast we continue north through Jutland to Hirtshals for the fast craft ferry to Norway. There will be time on board to relax, sample some refreshments and enjoy the ship facilities. Following our arrival in Larvik we travel inland to enjoy a first taste of the pristine scenery for which Norway is rightly framed. We’ll travel via Porsgrunn, Skein and then through wonderful Lakeland scenery, passing Bo and crossing the famous Telemark Canal to arrive at Quality Straad hotel,Vradal for 3 nights Dinner, Bed & Buffet breakfast.

FRIDAY: After breakfast you will take a two hour cruise on Lake Nisser on the veteran boat MS Fram. This is only a short walk from the hotel. On arrival back the rest of the day is at your leisure to use the hotel’s leisure facilities, maybe take a walk in the surroundings. Dinner in the hotel. (There will be an evening showing of the Hollywood Blockbuster, “The Heroes of Telemark”)

SATURDAY: After breakfast you’ll have a full day excursion across the Hardangervidda Plateau and including the Telemark heavy-water sabotage site. You will have a visit to the famous Heavy Water Sabotage site at Vemork, you’ll then join a mini bus for a short journey across the gorge and up the Vemork Power Station. This visit will offer an insight into Norwegian Industrial Heritage but most of interest is the film exhibits relating to the incredible story of the partisan sabotage mission to destroy Hitler’s heavy water plant that was located at this site. There is a café available where a drink can be obtained before we retrace our steps returning back to the coach. We then continue through Rjukan and along the shore of Lake Tinnsjo to Orvella. Returning to our hotel for dinner.

SUNDAY: After breakfast depart Vradal and make our way to the Stalheim Hotel, Stalheim for 3 nights Dinner, Bed & Buffet breakfast. On our journey we will travel to Brunkenberg crossing the Haukelifjell Mountain road descending to Sorford then to Odda. We will continue onto Utne where we take a short ferry journey across the

Hardangerfjord to Kvanndal then towards Gudvangen before arriving at Stalheim.

MONDAY: After breakfast we make our way over the Vik Mountains to a small town of Vik continuing on to Vangsnes for a short ferry ride to Hella. We’ll have a short stop in Sogndal continuing onto Mannheller for a short sailing to Fodnes. Continue on to Laerdal a pretty town surrounded by mountains you’ll visit the Norwegian Wild Salmon Centre and continue by taking the old Bergen/Oslo postal route climbing up to stave church at Borgund. You’ll pass Norway’s most famous salmon fishing rivers. At Borgund you’ll visit the Stave Church. Returning to our hotel for dinner.

TUESDAY: After breakfast you have the option of a day of leisure or a ‘Norway in a Nutshell’ excursion (At additional cost) – You’ll make your way to Gudvangen where you board the Fjord cruise for the leisurely journey to Flam sailing down the narrow Naerofjord and Aurlandsfjord with steep cliffs rising on both sides of the boat. You’ll have free time in Flam before joining the Flam railway for a return journey to Myrdal.OPTIONAL EXTRA: Fjord Cruise between Gudvangen and Flam and a return trip on the Flam Railway between Flam and Myrdal. We offer over 100 pick-up points in and around Derbyshire and Sheffield. Our office is situated at our business premises at the junction of the A623 and the B6049 just outside Tideswell, where we have ample FREE PARKING (cars parked at owners risk) should you wish to leave your car whilst out for the day.

GENERAL CONDITIONSTickets are issued on behalf of Andrew’s of Tideswell Ltd., Anchor Garage, Tideswell, Buxton, Derbyshire SK17 8RB.NO SMOKINGSmoking is not permitted on any day excursion. We will make regular stops en-route.

RESERVED SEATSSeats are reserved at the time of booking and EARLY BOOKING is advised if particular seats are required - Andrew’s reserve the right to alter seating arrangements where necessary for operational reasons, though this will be avoided as far as possible.

RESPONSIBILITY/LIABILITYWe do not accept any liability for any actions or omissions of those involved in your travel arrangements, over whom we have no direct control, and who are not employed by us as our employees or agents. The company shall not be liable for loss or additional expense caused by delay resulting from events beyond its control.

TICKETS Every passenger must possess an authorised ticket, which MUST HAVE BEEN PAID FOR IN ADVANCE OF TRAVEL. The ticket will be evidence that the passenger accepts these booking conditions. Tickets can be purchased from Andrew’s of Tideswell Ltd. or from one of our Agents and must be presented to the coach driver.

CANCELLATIONIf you wish to cancel, Andrews is not obliged to make a refund but, providing you cancel no later than THREE WORKING DAYS before departure we may, without obligation, refund any money paid, less £5.00 per passenger cancellation fee and less any costs of admission, meal etc., if such proves irrecoverable by us. In the event of a change of the general destination or purpose the customer may cancel up to three working days before departure to obtain full refund of all monies paid, which shall be the limit of the Company’s liability.

DISABLED PASSENGERSSome excursions involve long journeys and lengthy walking, and some visitor attractions may have stairs and no lifts. We make a special effort to help disabled customers to travel on our day excursions, and if you tell us about your disability when you book, it will help us to help you. Transportation of wheelchairs and scooters is at the passenger’s own risk and we cannot be held responsible for any damage to them. Passengers must be able to assemble and dismantle their own scooters (into no more then 5 pieces) and each piece must weigh no more than 40lbs.

ANIMALSNo animals shall be carried on the company’s coaches, except one guide dog/hearing dog per passenger.

TERMS OF GUARANTEEWe reserve the right to withdraw any excursions on which have not reached the minimum number required or to use a Mercedes mini-coach. Where numbers exceed our standard seating capacity we may use our 74-seater double decker coach.

OUTWARD DEPARTURES/JOINING THE COACHAs we offer over 100 pick-up points in and around the Peak District, the travelling time prior to departure can sometimes be rather drawn out for some passengers. We therefore try to minimise this by using feeder vehicles which meet up with the main coach at designated points.

TWO CENTRE EXCURSIONSSome excursions will be operating two centre destinations. All the two centre excursions have been designed so that the two destinations are close together and will hopefully not cause major delays to the destination you have chosen.

DEPARTURES ON HOMEWARD JOURNEYMost tours will depart on the homeward journey at 1630 /1700 with the exception of London, which usually returns at 1900. However, at the discretion of the driver, this timing may be altered.

FARESThe fares shown are for Adults, Children 4-14 inclusive and Senior Citizens. There are some tours where no reductions are made. Children up to 3 years of age travel free but are not allocated a seat on the coach.

WHAT TIME WILL I BE PICKED UP?To enable us to offer a more personal service, we do not provide you with an exact pick-up time until two working days prior to travel. This is advantageous to you the customer as it minimises the length of time that the pick-ups take.

LATE BOOKINGSThe day excursion pick-up times are scheduled two working days prior to travel. We therefore regret that should a late booking i.e. two days before, be made, we cannot guarantee all the below pick-up points, unless the point is already scheduled.

collection service is included free of charge.

2. If you live outside the red border, then we will still collect you from home but at a small extra charge (or in certain situations at a central point in your town at no extra charge).

3. If door to door service is not required we have many designated central pick ups - if you board at one of these points you will receive a £10.00 per person discount (please see list of central pick-ups opposite).

4. PLEASE NOTE:

a) You will be required to be waiting outside your home with your cases for your pick-up vehicle.

b) All door to door services are provided by our own cars, mini- coaches or reputable hired-in taxi operators.

c) You will be required to share your door to door vehicle with other passengers.

d) On occasions you may have to change vehicle twice.

e) If you live inside the circle we will endeavour to ensure that the time between collecting you from your home and when you join our main holiday coach is not more than 1-1/2 hours.

f) As this door to door service is arranged some time in advance a £10.00 per person supplement will be charged if you book your holiday less than 3 weeks prior to departure.
