History of the Hotel George Bernard Shaw described Parknasilla as;

“A place of long sea views and intricate walks between

ferns and fuchsias, rock and rhododendron, to burnt

out castles lost within the woods and along the various

fingers of land that point South West into the warm

Atlantic, this place does not belong to any World that

you or I have ever worked or lived in, ...........it is a part

of our dream world.”

The Doolittle Bar The Doolittle bar is named after Eliza Doolittle the star

of the play Pygmalion, written by George Bernard

Shaw. He spent many holidays in Parknasilla and wrote

most of St. Joan while relaxing here.

Our Bar and Lounge managers will ensure that the

lounge service relishes its reputation as a relaxed and

casual atmosphere with a very high quality of food and

drink.

The team here have a unique interest in locally

produced products. Sample some Dingle Gin & Vodka,

produced in the first purpose built distillery in Ireland

for over100 years or why not quench your thirst with

some Irish Craft Beers, Ciders and Stouts.

France Glass 48 Loire, Bougrier Rose d'Anjou €9.50

This crisp, refreshing blush hails from France's best terroir for fresh

wines, the Loire Valley. It has pure strawberries on the nose and has

a refreshing juicy palate (2017)

49 Languedoc-Roussiollon, Domaine Le Bosquet, Viognier €9.50

This Viognier shines through in this wine and is balanced with

Sauvignon grapes, a dry to fruity finish with refreshing citrus fruits,

peach and floral notes (2017)

51 Alsace, Jean-Remy, Haeffelin, Riesling €11.50

The Haeffelin house is renowned for their Riesling. Beautiful floral

nose with an elegant dry finish (2016)

52 Gascogne, Domaine de Ménard, Cuvée Marine €9.50

This is a “classy” white Bordeaux with aromas of apple, pear and

honeysuckle. Well-structured making it a perfect accompaniment

with meat or fish (2017)

This Chardonnay is full of ripe fruit, rich and flavoursome with a

butterscotch finish (2017)

This Portuguese white is a wonderful find and worthy of sampling.

The nose has floral notes with tropical fruit and slightly shrubby

tones, an elegant finish (2016)

New Zealand 55 Nelson, Old Coach Road, Sauvignon Blanc €11.50

This wine has a dry to fruity finish with refreshing citrus fruits, it has

a long and lingering finish and an excellent accompliment with any

seafood dishes (2017)

Italy 53 Trentino D.o.c, Concilio, Pinot Grigio €10.50

This is one Pinot Grigio that will not disappoint. Perfectly balanced

dryness with undertones of pear and banana (2017).

55 Treviso, Masottina Prosecco, 20cl €12.95

Fresh and harmonic with a pronounced note of acacia flowers (NV).
