Subject-verb agreement
Two subjects joined by AND are treated as plural;
EX: Dermon and Le’Andranique dance to the music.

Two subjects joined by OR are treated as singular.
EX: Bijon or Troyjea was treated to ice cream.
SHE was treated to ice cream.
If one subject is plural and the other singular, make the verb agree with the nearest one.

Pronoun-antecedent agreement
A pronoun is a word which takes the place of a noun or stands in for an unknown noun. The noun
which the pronoun replaces is called its antecedent.
Rule for Pronouns and Antecedents:A pronoun must agree with its antecedent.
Therefore, if the antecedent is plural, use a plural pronoun; if the antecedent is feminine, use a
feminine pronoun, and so on.
EX: When the cop chased me, they fell in the street.

Conflict: The internal/external struggles of the characters
Motivation: The reason a character acts the way he/she does
Symbol: A symbol is a person, place, or thing comes to represent an abstract idea or concept
