NEWS & UPDATES1. MoUD-CLPIU organized ‘Training on Technical Inspection Guidelines for Housing Reconstruction for DLPIU Technical Professionals’ in Chautara, Sindhupalchok on 25 Jan. The program was supported by JICA and implemented by TPIS-ERP. 2. District Forest Office is importing 10,000 cubic feet of wood from Nawalparasi. Upon arrival, the wood will be distributed from three depots: Melamchi, Chautara and Lamosanghu. Each of the beneficiaries, after verification from DLPIU engineers and recommendation from VDC/municipality, is entitled to get 25 cubic feet of wood.3. The Orientation on Inspection SOP for POs was held on 10 Jan. POs working in the VDCs are requested to support with providing technical assistance, also supporting households with selecting or amending their house design, in compliance with the Nepal Building Code. 4. There were reports of few POs proceeding with the distribution of the second tranche without the DL-PIU engineers having conducted the inspection. POs are requested to consult with NRA/DUDBC before distributing the second tranche. ©
