MIDIGAS Nitrogen Gas GeneratorsThe cost-effective, reliable and safe solution for small
to medium nitrogen requirements.
MIDIGAS nitrogen gas generators from Parker domnickhunter produce nitrogen gas from compressed air andoffer a cost-effective, reliable and safe alternative totraditional nitrogen gas supplies such as cylinder orliquid.
Nitrogen is used as a clean, dry, inert gas primarily forremoving oxygen from products and/or processes.
MIDIGAS provides an on-demand, continuous source of nitrogen gas which can be used in a wide range ofindustries such as food, beverage, pharmaceutical, laboratory, chemical, heat treatment, electronics, transportation, oil and gas and laser cutting.

Typical capital pay-backis achievable within 12-24 months
• Energy savings
Low air consumption provides greater energy efficiency
• Convenient and safe
The easy to use system is simple to install, requires minimal maintenance andeliminates safety hazards associated withtraditional gas supplies
• Space saving design
The compact design means the systemdemands less floor space
• Flexible modular option
The modular concept means thegenerators can be multi-banked if required
• Reduced carbon footprint
The elimination of cylinder deliveries andtransportation means carbon footprint canbe reduced
* Typical cost savings achieved in comparison to cylinder or liquid supply
A typical MIDIGAS system comprises of the following configuration:
Pre-treatment solutions
Using high quality compressed air to supply MIDIGASnitrogen generators will ensure long and trouble free serviceand optimum performance. To guarantee this, Parkerdomnick hunter offers a unique suite of pre-treatmentsolutions including PNEUDRI desiccant air dryers and OIL-X EVOLUTION coalescing filters which provide delivered airquality in accordance with the quality classification 3.2.2from ISO 8573-1:2001, the international standard forcompressed air quality.
Cost-effective, energy saving solution
In addition to a short pay-back period, the cost-effectivesolution removes costs associated with traditional gassupplies including refills, order processing, tank rental anddelivery charges and eliminates future gas company priceincreases.
Whilst operating from a standard compressed air supply, theeconomy mode and on-demand function respectively offerscontrol over nitrogen production, flow rates and puritylevels and therefore limits costly wasted gas or liquid boil offto facilitate excellent energy savings.
The 24/7 operation also removes the risk of gas running outand thus the loss of production time.
Convenient and safe alternative
The system can be installed simply within a compressorhouse or production area with standard piping, eliminatingthe need for any special requirements.
In addition, low maintenance requirements ensure minimalproduction downtime.
Nitrogen is produced at low pressure, eliminating safetyhazards usually associated with high pressure cylinder gas.Potential manual handling concerns are also removed.

The Parker domnick hunter Design Philosophy
Parker domnick hunter has been supplying industry withhigh efficiency filtration and purification products since 1963.Our philosophy “Designed for Air Quality & EnergyEfficiency” ensures products that not only provide the userwith clean, high quality compressed air, but also with lowlifetime costs and reduced CO2 emissions.
MIDIGAS operates via the pressureswing adsorption (PSA) principle toproduce a continuous stream ofnitrogen gas from compressed air. Pairsof extruded aluminium columns arefilled with carbon molecular sieve(CMS). Pre-treated compressed airenters the bottom of the ‘online’ columnand flows up through the CMS.
Oxygen and other trace gases arepreferentially adsorbed by the CMS,allowing nitrogen to pass through. Aftera pre-set time the on-line columnautomatically switches to regenerativemode, venting contaminants from theCMS. Carbon molecular sieve differsfrom ordinary activated carbons as ithas a much narrower range of pore
openings. This allows small moleculessuch as oxygen to penetrate the poresand separate from nitrogen moleculeswhich are too large to enter the CMS.The larger nitrogen molecules by-passthe CMS and emerge as the product gas.
How it works
Flexible modular option
The modular concept offers greater flexibility totraditional twin tower PSA generators, as the MIDIGASgenerators can be configured to suit installations as andwhen the nitrogen demand increases.
Additional modules can provide extra capacity onstandby or service backup for peace of mind.
The compact design also means the units can fit throughstandard doorways.
