Getting StartedTo get started with Dimdim your first step is to sign in to the Dimdim Portal. You can do this by visiting our website at

www.dimdim.com and clicking on Start or Join Meeting buttons;

or by going directly to the URL webmeeting.dimdim.com and signing in:

This feature allows you to Start or Schedule a meeting as a presenter. After clicking on Host Meeting a window will pop up which will have the tabs General, Options, Features.

1. Meeting Room : this is the Meeting Room tied to your Dimdim ID. This room name can allow an attendee to join a meeting.

2. Meeting Name: this is an editable field which can be changed per meeting

3. Meeting Agenda: enter an Agenda or Subject for the meeting

4. Attendees: enter the email addresses of the people you invite to the meeting, separated by semi-colons

- for example [email protected]; [email protected]; etc.

5. Meeting: you can choose to start an instant meeting or schedule it for a particular time and date

6. Send email using: you can choose to use have Web Meeting send an automatic email or use your own email client:

1. Waiting Area: a security feature that lets the host admit attendees to the meeting room from a waiting area. Also known as a lobby.

2. Network: this option lets you to choose an appropriate network connection based on your internet connection speed.

3. Meeting Time: this option allows you to extend the meeting to a maximum of 5 hours 45 minutes and limit it to a minimum of 15 minutes.

4. Participants: choose the number of attendees for the meeting session. The maximum limit will depend on the plan which you have chosen.

5. Attendee Mics: choose how many microphones to share in the meeting. Currently supports a maximum of 3 attendees mics plus one presenter

6. Return URL: directs the attendees to the specified URL after the meeting has ended.

To join a meeting, click on the Join Meeting button on the left side of the screen.

This window will pop up.

Enter your Email address, Display Name (the name that will display to others in the web meeting) and the name of the Meeting Room you wish to join.

Note: You cannot join a meeting if the host has not yet started the meeting.

Upcoming Meetings: this feature allows you to see a list of all the meetings that you have scheduled for the next 7 calendar days. This is the default display page after the portal sign in page.

1. Signout: Click this button to exit the meeting portal and sign out.

2. Preferences: Update your default preferences for all meetings.

3. Change Password: Change your meeting portal password from here.

1. User ID: this field is your Dimdim ID and cannot be changed

2. Meeting Room: this field is currently set to your Dimdim ID and can be changed per meeting from Host Meeting > General Tab

3. Display Name: here you can change the display name which will reflect in the meeting room

4. Email: You will receive all the meeting related notifications and password change notifications specific to your Dimdim account at the email address mentioned here

5.Default Timezone : here you can set the default timezone for your Dimdim Account.

1. Feedback Email: enter the email address where feedback captured via the feedback link in the meeting room gets delivered.

1. Logo: you can replace the Dimdim logo with your Company or organization logo. The image must be 138 pixels by 58 pixels

2. Collaboration Space: you can change the default “Welcome to Dimdim” collaboration space webpage to either an URL or a website. Follow the instructions provided in “What’s This?”

Web Meeting startup checkAfter clicking on Host Meeting or Join Meeting your system will undergo a startup check to ensure your Operating System,

Browser, Flash Player Version are compatible. Once the checks are successful you enter the meeting room

1. Participants: the display name of all participants will show up in this pod. The Presenter is also counted as a participant.

2. Mood Indicator: if you click on this icon a popup menu will give you list of mood indicators you can choose from

3. Invite: this options allows the presenter to send an email invitation from within the active meeting.

4. A/V Broadcaster: the orange Microphone Icon is the A/V Broadcaster for the presenter. You can restart the A/V Broadcaster from here.

5. Private Chat, Enable/Disable Audio: The presenter can do a private chat, enable/disable audio and chat permissions for any attendee who is in the meeting

1. Upload: a presenter can upload a PowerPoint presentation or a PDF document under this option

2. Screen: this option allows a Windows presenter share their entire desktop*

3. Whiteboard: a presenter can switch to the whiteboard and all attendees will be redirected to it.

1. Under Upload click on PowerPoint (or PDF).

2. A window called “Select Presentation” will pop up. Please click on Browse to locate the PPT file and then click on Share

3. Depending on the size of the document it may take a few minutes to convert the presentation. Once converted, the controls on the next page will be presented

1. Click on Desktop. Alternatively you can click on Desktop which is under “Show Items”

2. A window “Confirm Desktop Sharing” will pop up. Once you click “OK” Desktop Sharing will start.

3. This icon indicates that Desktop Sharing has started. To stop sharing click on Desktop again (either under Screen or Show Items)

They must select “Allow” and have a webcam and/or microphone attached to their computer. It is best if they press “Push to Talk” in order to have one person broadcasting audio at a time.

To select your correct microphone or Webcam, right-click on the A/V window and click on “Settings…” Select the respective icon to make the necessary changes.

Play: allows you to stop or start the A/V Broadcaster. Attendees will not be able to see or hear you when stopped. Click to restart.

Mute Video: allows you to stop streaming your video while still broadcasting your audio. Attendees will see a still frame.

1. Click on the icon next to your name for a drop down list of mood indicators to choose from.

2. After a Presenter enables your microphone, you will see a window which has a sliding tray to Stop, Mute Audio and Settings.

3. To be heard by others in the meeting you can press and hold the Talk button or click the Hands Free box. (best if you are using a headset)

4. Attendees can stop and start the Presenter’s video as well as adjust the audio volume.
