Whether you are a Telco planning to roll out 5G and WiFi 6 services or a CSP on the verge of platformification, Service Provisioning is the fundamental actualizer of future reality. Put simply, Service Provisioning is the nerve centre that determines how all your services will actually be turned up, provisioned and managed.

In a complex operator ecosystem like yours, where network resources are spread across different domains and vendor technologies, physical and virtual elements, old and new systems, manual and automated process, it is ever more critical to have sophisticated and reliable Service Provisioning platform. dSP is precisely built to make such complex things radically simple. dSP can easily handle service provisioning requests volume of Tier 1 Telcos with more than 30 million subscriber base.

dSP is the most stable, cloud-ready, carrier-grade, Service Provisioning platform. With auto scale, auto heal and zero downtime upgrades, dSP optimizes performance and costs with minimal manual intervention. dSP simplifies Service lifecycle management right from inception, modifications to sunsetting via integration with various northbound application and southbound applications.

Being technology agnostic, dSP is 4G and 5G ready by design. In addition, it is channel agnostic as well: which makes single order life cycle for CRM, WOM, CWSC etc. possible. Easy configurability of dSP enables launching new services and rolling out products easily and cost-

effectively. It handles not only the existing services and network elements but also the new services including SDN and VNFs-enabled on-the-tap services.

dSP facilitates auto enablement of the subscribers’ next generation data, voice and video

services offered over wireline or wireless networks. It also guarantees Zero Order Loss.

dSP product follows the Cloud Native Principles and utilizes the STL’s Cloud Native Platform. The Service provisioning facets have been decomposed into functional microservices. Each microservice is independent, lightweight and stateless. These Spring Boot based microservices are deployed, managed, integrated and monitored via ISTIO service mesh.

Event based architecture design for inter-service communication (in asynchronous order execution mode) allows each microservice to scale based on the load pending for it to process. The synchronous order execution mode benefits from the end to order tracing via Jaeger. System health monitoring is done by Prometheus and Grafana. Configurable Integration with northbound and southbound systems is the core of the system. JMS, STOMP and REST are the northbound integration protocols whilst the southbound protocol list is SOAP, REST over HTTP/ HTTPS, TL1/MML over Telnet/ SSH, XML/RPC and SPML.

dSP is a future-ready network provisioning platform to ensure BSS and OSS layer consistency of provisioned information. It is an intermediary system between the northbound and southbound devices. The originating system initializes a provisioning request, which travels through dSP to the target devices.

One can create a new service by defining service-specific order execution flow and by adding required NB or SB configuration. When the northbound devices send requests to dSP, it generates service order and provision requests to the southbound devices. dSP provisions this information through its device, command, attribute, and process flow configurations. dSP supports over 180+ use cases with various southbound N/W device integrations like Nokia HLR, Nokia HSS, Titanium ENUM, Huawei HLR, Huawei PCRF, Huawei CBS, Huawei SPG and SmartTrust OTA. It powers CSPs with runtime launch of new service configurations.

Whether the given SB-device is a part of massive or non-massive IOT/non-IOT network, it makes no difference to dSP performance and operations. dSP provides the same elastic provisioning of application components on resource-constrained and heterogeneous devices. By taking advantage of the composability of services and optimized modular cache policies, dSP improves the performance of service provision systems for both IoT and non-IoT. Though we do not support provisioning on the IOT device directly, dSP can integrate with Subscription Manager Data Preparation (SM-DP) + in case of e-sim scenario. SM-DP then configures the IoT device. To improve scalability and reduce generated network traffic, dSP supports distributed provisioning to both pull-based and push-based deployments.

In case of errors, all the failed orders can be reviewed and re-pushed from GUI. The GUI provides various filters such as error messages, parameters like Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Number (MSISDN) and International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) to search erroneous records and re-process them, based on business needs. It also supports bulk handling of fallouts. Moreover, each error is logged and is available in Kibana dashboard for RCA to

operator.

dSP has made provisioning cool for many operators across the globe. Regardless of their size and complexity, Telcos have discovered the dSP’s impact on their business strategies.
