1988

The NeXT cube is a high-end workstation computer

developed, manufactured and sold by NeXT from 1990

until 1993. It superseded the original NeXT Computer

workstation and is housed in a similar cube-shaped

magnesium enclosure.

1989

The Game Boy is an 8-bit handheld video game device

developed and manufactured by Nintendo. It was released in

Japan on April 21, 1989, in North America in August 1989,

and in Europe on September 28, 1990. It is the first

handheld console in the Game Boy line.

1990

The World Wide Web prototype was created. Tim Berners-Lee

shared his original prototype for an Internet browser that

would allow people to share information by using a special

mark-up language to post text, link to other documents, and

display graphic images.

1991

Tim Bernes-Lee and CERN released the World Wide Web

program. It was the only way to see the web. Much later it

was renamed Nexus in order to save confusion between the

program and the abstract information space (which is now

spelled World Wide Web with spaces).

Dec.1992- A mobile phone in the United Kingdom

received one of the first SMS messages.

1993

In 1993, Intel announced the Pentium chip. The Pentium is a 32-bit

chip with superscalar design, and is estimated to be two times faster

than the 486DX2 (66MHz) chip. The Pentium uses dual pipelines to

allow it to process two separate instructions in a single cycle. Don

Alpert was the architecture manager of the Pentium, John Crawford

was co-manager. In March 1994, Intel announced new and faster

versions of the Pentium microprocessor.

Yahoo! Inc. is an American multinational Internet

corporation headquartered in Sunnyvale, California.

It is globally known for its Web portal, search engine

Yahoo Search, and related services.

Camera Phones — Introduced to the North American

marketplace in 2002, an estimated 80 million camera

phones were sold in 2003, — 6 million in the U.S. alone. By

2003 more camera phones were sold worldwide than stand-

alone digital cameras. At the end of 2008, the world-

installed base of camera phones was 1.9 billion.

wide range of persons to broadcast artwork and

make a name for themselves.

Xbox One is a video game console developed and marketed

by Microsoft. Announced on May 21, 2013, it is the successor

to the Xbox 360 and is the third console in the Xbox family. It

directly competes with Sony's PlayStation 4 and Nintendo's

Wii U as part of the eighth generation of video game consoles.

It's long been the stuff of science fiction, but tech

giants hope the "smart home", where gadgets talk to

each other and the fridge orders the milk, will soon

become reality.

Researchers from the University of Washington in Seattle

have come up-with a SideSwipe system that enables in-air

gestures above and around a mobile device. This is an

interesting way to interact with the phone without using

physical buttons or touchscreens.
