It will also change between the channel lists (All, Subscribed, Favorites and/or HD). Press the MENU button to access the Menu Screen. The highlight color is a green outline. The highlight indicates your current selection. Use the ARROWS to move the highlight through the guide and menus. Press the OK button to select the highlighted item. Press the EXIT button to return to Live TV. Return to the last channel viewed by pressing the LAST button. Changing Channels To change the channel do one of the following: Press GUIDE to view the list of channels and programming. Use the ARROWS, CH+/- or PG+/- to move through the guide. Press OK to select the desired channel/program. Pressing the GUIDE button repeatedly will move between channel lists (All, Subscribed, Favorites and/or HD). Each press of the Guide button activates the next channel list. Use the navigation arrows to scroll through the program listings. Press OK to select the desired channel/program. (Up/Down Arrows: Scroll through the channel list. Left/Right Arrows: Move between present and future programming.) Press the CH+/- button to move to the next or previous channel. Enter the channel number using the Number Pad. Controlling TV Volume Remote control must be programmed for your specific TV model. Press the VOL+/- button to adjust the volume on your TV. Press the MUTE button to mute or unmute the TV volume. Guide Menu A list of channels and program listings. Pressing the GUIDE button repeatedly will move between channel lists (All, Subscribed, Favorites and/or HD). Each press of the Guide button activates the next channel list. FIND PROGRAMMING 1. Press GUIDE, use the ARROWS to move through the list, highlight the program you want to watch and press OK. SETTING A REMINDER Notifies you a few minutes before a program starts. 1. Press GUIDE, use the ARROWS to move through the list, highlight the program of choice and press OK. 2. Highlight SET REMINDER and press OK. You will be returned to the Guide. 3. Next to the name in the program listing you will see . 4. A few minutes before your program starts a box will appear on your screen telling you that you have a reminder. Press INFO to display the reminder. 5. To tune to the program, highlight the program name and press OK; to ignore the alert highlight CANCEL and press OK. SETTING AUTO TUNE Automatically change channels when a program is going to start. 1. Press GUIDE, use the ARROWS to move through the list, highlight the program and press OK. 2. Highlight SET AUTOTUNE and Press OK. You will be returned to the Guide. 3. Next to the name in the program listing you will see . 4. Just before your program begins a box will appear on your screen giving you the option to tune in or cancel. You can wait, the message will go away and the channel will change, or highlight either option and press OK. Favorites Menu Create a list of favorite or commonly watched channels. Your personalized list will be available as an option in the GUIDE. Pressing the GUIDE button repeatedly will move you between the channel lists. Each press of the GUIDE button will activate the next list/group. CREATE A FAVORITES TAB 1. Press MENU, use the ARROWS to highlight FAVORITES and press OK. 2. Highlight CREATE and Press OK. 3. The default name of your list is Favorites + a number (Favorites1) . To rename your list highlight the NAME box and press OK to open the on-screen keypad. Highlight CLEAR ALL and press OK to clear the name. Highlight letters/numbers and press OK after each. When you have finished entering the name highlight DONE and press OK. 4. Highlight a channel to add or remove from your list and press OK. Beside each channel you add to your list your will see . 5. To save your list, highlight UPDATE and press OK. ADD CHANNELS TO YOUR FAVORITES LIST 1. While watching a program press OK. 2. Use the ARROWS to highlight ADD TO FAVORITES and press OK. 3. Highlight a Favorites list and press OK. (A Favorites list that already includes this channel will not be shown). Search Menu Search will find programs that match the text you entered. SEARCH FOR A PROGRAM 1. Press MENU, use the ARROWS to highlight SEARCH and press OK. 2. When the Search Screen opens the text box will be highlighted. Press OK to open the on-screen keypad. 3. Highlight each letter in the name of the program you want to find and press OK after each. Each time you press OK you should see that letter/number added to the text box. If you enter a wrong letter highlight DEL and press OK to go back one space. To start over, highlight CLEAR ALL and press OK. 4. Once you have entered as much of the program name as you feel is necessary highlight DONE and press OK. (Usually the first 3-4 letters should be sufficient.) 5. Highlight SEARCH GUIDE and press OK. 6. Select EXTENDED and press OK to search the next 14 days worth of data. (Quick only searches roughly 48 hours of guide data). Menu Screen Press the MENU button to access the following options. GUIDE - A list of channels and program listings. Pressing the GUIDE button repeatedly will move between channel lists (All, Subscribed, Favorites and/or HD). Each press of the Guide button activates the next channel list. PVR (DVR) - Access recorded programs, schedule/review scheduled recordings and view your recording history. VAULT - View Reminders, Messages or Caller ID history. PARENTAL CONTROLS - Temporarily enable/disable parental controls. Note: Parental Controls must first be set up in the Settings before it will appear in the Main Menu. SETTINGS - Create/edit users and preferences. Access to Settings requires a password. Default password: 1111 FAVORITES - Create a list/group of your favorite or most commonly watched channels. Each list you create shows up as an option in the Guide. (Example: John Doe creates a list named "John" that contains his favorite channels; Jane Doe also creates a list called "Sports", it contains her favorite sports channels.) SEARCH - Enter text to search the Guide and recordings to find programs. Extended Search - search 10 days of guide data. Quick Search - search roughly 48 hours of guide data. Sign In/Out - Allows you to sign in or out of an account. Note: This only appears if you use the Enable Login option in the Settings Menu, have multiple user accounts or signed in with a user name and password. Parental Controls Parental Controls must first be set up in SETTINGS before it will appear in the Menu. The Menu will show if parental controls are on or off. When in effect the Menu reads "Parental Controls-On", if they are disabled it reads "Parental Controls-Off". EDIT PARENTAL CONTROLS Set the master parental controls that affect all users. 1. Press MENU, use the ARROWS to highlight SETTINGS and press OK. 2. Highlight EDIT next to Parental Control and Press OK. 3. To change a setting with a check box highlight the setting you want to modify and press OK. Otherwise highlight the setting you want to change and press OK. Use the ARROWS to scroll through the available options and then press OK. Movie Rating: Highest rating for movies that will not be blocked. TV Rating: Highest rating for TV shows that will not be blocked. Unlock Time Out: Maximum time Parental Controls will be disabled when turned off in the Menu. 30 - 270 minutes Block Unrated: When selected blocks all unrated programs. Show Blocked Program Info: When selected blocks any information from the Guide for any program that has been blocked. Content Rating: When selected determines the type of content that will be blocked. 4. To save the settings, highlight SUBMIT and press OK. To discard your changes, highlight CANCEL and press OK. DISABLE PARENTAL CONTROLS If you disable Parental Controls they will stay disabled until you turn them back on or the Parental Controls Time Out is reached. Once the Time Out period has been reached the system automatically restores the Parental Controls. You will see an alert on the screen just before they are restored. 1. Press MENU, use the ARROWS to highlight PARENTAL CONTROLS and press OK. 2. Use the NUMBER PAD to enter your parental control password. 3. Highlight SELECT and press OK. ENABLE PARENTAL CONTROLS 1. Press MENU, use the ARROWS to highlight PARENTAL CONTROLS and press OK.

Digital Cable TV Quick Start GuideBasic Navigation Press the GUIDE button to view the list of channels and

programming. It will also change between the channel lists (All, Subscribed, Favorites and/or HD).

Press the MENU button to access the Menu Screen.

The highlight color is a green outline. The highlight indicates

Changing ChannelsTo change the channel do one of the following:

Controlling TV VolumeRemote control must be programmed for your specific TV model.

PVR (Personal Video Recorder) MenuPVR requires a special box and a PVR service subscription.

(Also known as DVR) Record up to 90 hours of you favorite programs digitally without tapes or discs. You can also pause, rewind and fast-forward Live TV.To access the PVR Menu press MENU. Use the ARROWS to highlight PVR and press OK.recordings - List of programs being recorded or previously recorded.to record - List of all the programs scheduled to be recorded.Scheduled priority - Prioritize your list of scheduled recordings.Schedule event - Set up Recording that will occur in the future.record history - List of information about the recordings.

Controlling live tvTemporary memory allows you to rewind the channel you are watching, up to 4 hours, depending upon how long the channel has been on. Changing channels will clear anything that has been saved in the temporary memory.A status bar will appear on the top of your screen when controlling Live TV. It will disappear in 25 seconds or by pressing EXIT. The center area displays a green bar to indicate the amount of time you can rewind or fast-forward through. The green arrows show where you are within that time range.• PAUSE ▌▌ Press to pause the program at the current point.• PLAY ►Press to resume watching at normal speed. (You're now

watching recorded TV).• REWIND◄◄ or FAST-FORWARD ►►Press to reverse or advance

playback (Press button up to 4 times to increase/decrease speed).• STOP █ Press to stop playback. (You're now watching Live TV).

Standard Definition (SD) TV: You can record one program and watch or record a 2nd program. If you change channels while 2 programs are being recorded, you will be prompted to cancel the 2nd recording.High Definition (HD) TV: You CAN NOT record HD channels.

QuiCk reCordingThe fastest and easiest way to start recording to your Set-Top Box.1. While watching a program press RECORD. Recording will begin

immediately. If you change the channel you will continue to record that program until the program ends.

Input (TV/Video) Press to switch between AV inputs.(You must first press the TV button to select TV Mode)

Delete Press to delete a single character in text boxes.

STB (Set Top Box) Press to control STB functions.AUX (VCR, Stereo, Etc) Press to control AUX functions.DVD Press to control DVD functions.

Power Turn components On/Off.

TV Press to control TV functions.

AUD (Audio) Press to control AUD functions.

2. You will see next to the program listing and on the Set-Top Box.To stop recording the current program press STOP (You must be on the channel being recorded). A pop-up box will appear, use the ARROWS to highlight either YES or NO and Press OK.

reCording a programYou can also start a recording from the Guide Menu.1. Press GUIDE and use the ARROWS to move through the list and

find the program you want. (Program must be highlighted).2. Press RECORD. You will be returned to the Guide.3. Next to the program name in the program listing you will see .

play your reCordingS1. Press MENU, use the ARROWS to highlight PVR and press OK.2. Highlight RECORDINGS and press OK.3. Highlight the program you would like to watch and press OK.4. Highlight PLAY RECORDING and press OK.

delete your reCordingS1. Press MENU, use the ARROWS to highlight PVR and press OK.2. Highlight RECORDINGS and press OK.3. Highlight the program you would like to delete and press OK.4. Highlight DELETE RECORDING and press OK.5. Highlight YES and press OK.

SChedule timer reCordingSSchedule a recording using SCHEDULE EVENT in the PVR Menu.1. Press MENU, use the ARROWS to highlight PVR and press OK.2. Highlight SCHEDULE EVENT and press OK.3. Enter the channel to be recorded, length, start date, time, type

(Recording) and frequency (Single, Weekly, Every M-F, Every day). Use the Up/Down ARROWS to choose each option. When you

see the arrowheads to either side of the option use the Left/Right ARROWS to adjust each option.

4. Highlight OK and press the OK button on the remote.

CanCel timer reCordingS1. Press MENU, use the ARROWS to highlight PVR and press OK.2. Highlight SCHEDULE PRIORITY and press OK.3. Highlight the recording you would like to delete and press OK.4. Highlight CANCEL SERIES RECORDING and press OK.

edit a reCording Adjust when the recording begins or ends.1. Press GUIDE and use the ARROWS to highlight the program to be

recorded and press OK.2. Highlight EDIT RECORDING and press OK.3. Use the Up/Down ARROWS to select PAD IN or PAD OUT. When

you see the arrowheads to either side of the box use the Left/Right ARROWS to adjust the PAD IN or PAD OUT times.

PAD IN: add time to the beginning of the scheduled recording. PAD OUT: add time to the end of the scheduled recording.4. Highlight OK and press OK to save your changes.

SerieS reCordingRecord every episode of a series to your Set-Top Box.1. Press GUIDE and using the ARROWS select any program of the

series you want to record. (Program must be highlighted). Press OK.2. Highlight RECORD SERIES and Press OK. You will be returned

to the Guide.3. Next to the program name in the program listing you will see .

edit SerieS reCordingAdjust options for recording a series.1. Press GUIDE and use the ARROWS to highlight any program in

the series to be recorded and press OK.2. Highlight EDIT SERIES RECORDING and press OK.3. Use the Up/Down ARROWS to choose any of the options. When

you see the arrowheads to either side of the option use the Left/Right ARROWS to adjust each option.CHANNELS: record only on the channel you used to create the recording or record any channel that airs the program.PREFERENCE: record the program when shown in standard definition or only when shown in high definition.EPISODES: record only new episodes or all episodes.

PAD IN: add time to the beginning of the scheduled recording. PAD OUT: add time to the end of the scheduled recording.

LIMIT TO: determines how many episodes are saved. The system deletes the oldest recordings once the limit has been reached.

4. Highlight OK and press OK to save your changes.

Skip an epiSode1. Press GUIDE and use the ARROWS to locate the episode in the

series that you want to skip. Highlight its listing and press OK.2. Highlight SKIP EPISODE and press OK. You will be returned to the

Guide. (The icon that indicates you are recording a series will be grey). If you decide later you do want to record this episode repeat the steps instead choosing RECORD EPISODE and press OK.

CanCel any event (reminder, auto tune, recording)Cancel any event you have previously scheduled from the GUIDE.1. Press GUIDE and use the ARROWS to locate the program with

the event you want to cancel. Highlight its listing and press OK.2. Highlight Cancel (event type, for example CANCEL REMINDER)

and Press OK. You will be returned to the Guide.3. The event icon will be removed from the program listing.5. Highlight YES and press OK.

SChedule priorityA list of all the scheduled series recordings. The program with the highest priority is listed first. It is recorded in preference to any other series recording; the series with the lowest priority is skipped.1. Press MENU, use the ARROWS to highlight PVR and press OK.2. Highlight SCHEDULE PRIORITY and press OK.3. Highlight the program you want to change and press OK.4. Highlight either MOVE UP or MOVE DOWN and press OK.5. Repeat until the series are listed in the order you want.

Settings MenuCreate/edit preferences and users. Access to the SETTINGS requires a password. The default password is 1111.To access Settings Menu, press Menu. Use the ARROWS to highlight SETTINGS and press OK.preFerenCeS tab - Activate/deactivate features including Share Rentals (not used), Require Login, Enable Caller ID, Channel Blocking and Parental Controls.uSerS tab - Allows you to edit current users as well as create new users and administer their unique settings.
