Hey AIESEC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AIESEC Ife welcomes you to NEXLDS 2014!!! The OC team have been working really hard to Make NEXLDS possible, to create an enabling atmosphere. Between December 7-12, we look forward to hosting you in the most beautiful way possible. We hope NEXLDS will be another milestone in your personal AIESEC Journey. NEXLDS is one of the three annual conferences by AIESEC in Nigeria. NEXLDS is designed to bring together the brightest young, progressive minds from 14 universities across Nigeria to be trained on leadership and the vital role International internship plays in honing their Leadership skills and potentials. For Five days, delegates will be part of an intensive training on leadership and how they can contribute to the society. Emphasis will be made on international internship as a necessary tool for leadership development. All these are geared towards making these youths assets to their society. Conference objectives: Leadership development Facilitate collaboration between AIESEC in Nigeria and other AIESEC entities Ensure delegates are motivated to take on leadership roles in the organization To make delegates understand that the organization’s growth and sustainability is a reflection of their individual growth in leadership and global view Ensure delegates understand they are responsible to themselves, the organization and the society at large. To ensure delegates understand the need for long term growth in the organization as against short them growth. To ensure cultural exchange between delegates from within and outside Nigeria.

ABOUT IFE-HISTory AND Culture

Ife is an ancient town in Yoruba history and is regarded as the cradle of civilization. It is believed that the creation of the world started from ile ife. Hence, the name ile ife (Land of the source) Ile Ife is the spiritual home of the Yoruba people, it is therefore associated with lots of religious and cultural practises and edifices.

Because of the historical and cultural significance of Ile ife amongst the Yorubas, traditional Practices are still common. However, Christianity and Islam are still two popular practises

Ile ife is located within Osun state, South-western Nigeria. Geogrphically, ife lies on longitude 4o 69’E and latitude 70o50’N. The climate is tropical. Like any other south-western area, the rainy season starts April to October while the dry season lasts October to march.

GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION-TOURIST ATTRACTION

Osun state has its own share of tourist attraction. From the ever glittering Erin Ijesha waterfalls, to Osun-Osogbo groove, the Ife museum of antiquities, the Olojo festival,Opa Oranmiyan, Okemogun shrine, Oduduwa palace and home to the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo university.
