Overview of Decade The sixties were the age of youth, as 70 million children from the post war baby boom became teenagers and young adults. This decade was mostly known for revolutionary ways of thinking and real change in the cultural status of American life. Young people wanted change. The changes affected education, values, lifestyles, laws, and entertainment. Many of the revolutionary ideas which began in the sixties are continuing to evolve today. This decade has to be the most interesting due to all of the events that happened.

ECONOMICS - United States experienced its longest uninterrupted period of economic expansion in history. POLITICS - The 1960’s marked the era of John F. Kennedy’s “New Frontier” and Lyndon B. Johnson’s “Great Society”.  SOCIETY & CULTURE -The sixties was the decade for change. The 1960's began with crew cuts on men ENVIRONMENT -First Clean Water Act passes US Congress.

Overview of Decade
