Raindance  Film  Festival  presents  an  exclusive  Masterclass    with  Oscar  nominated  screenwriter  Guillermo  Arriaga  

Join  screenwriter  Guillermo  Arriaga  as  he  shares  his  skills  through  immersive  sessions  during  Raindance  Film  Festival  

 Raindance  Film  Festival,  in  association  with  the  Co-­‐Production  Forum:  Focus  on  Mexico,  is  

proud  to  announce  an  exclusive  Masterclass  with  one  of  the  most  original  storytelling  and  

screenwriting  voices,  Guillermo  Arriaga.    

The  Oscar®  nominated  screenwriter  behind  films  such  as  Amores  Perros,  Babel  and  

21  Grams  will  discuss  his  craft  during  two  exclusive  sessions  brought  to  you  by  

Raindance  Film  Festival  on  October  3rd  and  October  4th  2015  at  The  May  Fair  Hotel,  

London.    

Join  Guillermo  Arriaga  as  he  talks  through  complex  and  advanced  methods  and  principles  of  

story,  structure,  dramatic  tension,  character  development  and  scene  design,  giving  avid  

screenwriters  the  chance  to  learn  first  hand  from  an  industry  expert.  

Born  and  raised  in  Mexico  City,  Arriaga  first  came  to  prominence  in  Mexico  as  a  novelist.  His  

works,  rife  with  a  trademark  sense  of  humour  and  irony,  have  been  translated  in  18  

languages.  As  a  screenwriter  he  has  collaborated  with  director  Alejandro  González  

Iñárritu  (Birdman)  while  his  screenplay  for  The  Three  Burials  of  Melquiades  Estrada,  

directed  by  and  starring  Tommy  Lee  Jones,  also  won  Arriaga  the  prestigious  Best  

Screenplay  Award  at  the  Cannes  Film  Festival.    

 

                               

 

 

 

The  2015  Raindance  Film  Festival  takes  place  from  23rd  September  –  4th  October  2015  in  

Central  London.  Now  in  its  23rd  year,  the  festival  has  a  strong  legacy  of  showing  alternative  

films  and  uncovering  the  hottest  new  filmmakers  to  hit  the  cinematic  scene.    Raindance-­‐
