Dear Members, Every year I am surprised by Labor Day and how quickly the summer has passed. Probably one of the first things our members will notice is that we have re-paved our parking lot—a lot less stones in your sandals now. And soon many of our seasonal members will begin returning; we do miss seeing them when they are gone to cooler climates. Our first initiation of the fall will be September 18th. Come and help welcome our new members. We also have closed our first book drive for the Steele Childrens Hospital and I am very proud of our members generosity. Dont forget to start planning ahead to attend our great Veterans Dance on November 10th with That Kool Band again, tickets will go on sale soon. I know it s early yet, but we often do sell out that event. Those of you who have offered to come help, please do not forget our meeting on September 7th at 3 pm. Looking forward to seeing you all soon! Fraternally, Mary Greenewald PER, Exalted Ruler Lodge 2350 September 2018 Edition

Dear Members,

Every year I am surprised by Labor Day and how quickly the

summer has passed.

Probably one of the first things our members will notice is that we

have re-paved our parking lot—a lot less stones in your sandals

now. And soon many of our seasonal members will begin

returning; we do miss seeing them when they are gone to cooler

climates.

Our first initiation of the fall will be September 18th. Come and help

welcome our new members. We also have closed our first book

drive for the Steele Children’s Hospital and I am very proud of our

member’s generosity.

Don’t forget to start planning ahead to attend our great Veteran’s Dance on November 10th

with That Kool Band again, tickets will go on sale soon. I know it’s early yet, but we often

do sell out that event. Those of you who have offered to come help, please do not forget

our meeting on September 7th at 3 pm.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Fraternally,

Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of Elks members. The Foundation will offer a

total of 300 awards in the 2019 contest, an increase of 50 awards.

The 2019 contest will open on September 1, 2018.

The deadline for applications for the 2019 contest will be February 1, 2019 at 11:59 a.m. Central Time.

Who is Eligible?

1. For the 2019 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who

joined the order on or before April 1, 2016, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1,

2016, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2019. Great-grandchildren are

not eligible.

7. Legacy Awards may only be applied to accredited US American schools, colleges or universities. (Note:

Applicants from Guam, Panama, Puerto Rico and the Philippines may apply Legacy Awards toward schools, colleges

or universities in their respective homes.)

8. If you are selected as a 2018 Legacy Awards recipient, you will be required to perform service once a year with

an Elks Lodge during the four years you are receiving the scholarship. Click here for more information about serving

requirements.
