Dear 2nd Grade Families, 12/2/13

Happy December! I am very excited to stay the full year with your children. We have made so much progress! We have three more weeks of school before the holiday break and we will be busy! Here is what we are working on:

Reading/Writing- Continuation of personal narratives using sequencing and action words.

Social Studies- Beginning wants/needs and goods/services.

Math- Continuation of math strategies including doubles (7+7 = 14) and near doubles (7+7 = 14, so 7+8= 15)

Spelling- Continuation of Consonant Blends (st, dr) and high-frequency words.

Donations: We decided to save up our box tops for the month of December! We are always looking for more. We greatly appreciate all the box tops we have received so far!

Winter Gear:If there is snow, your child must haveSnowpants and boots in order to play on theplayground. We ask that you send your childin with the proper winter gear so they can play and stay warm!
