It is, but you wouldn’t know it because most people have been deceived and don’t make the connection. The truth is, having evolu- tion as integral part of the curriculum in our public schools threatens many of our precious American values, like equality. In textbooks, museums and on national TV we have all seen the evolutionary progression going from the hunched tree-climbing monkey to the upright sophisticated man, but how many of us thought such images are putting mankind at risk? We need to realize that what we are seeing is a subtle form of racism being propagated in the name of “science” —falsely so-called. By its own definition, evolutionary science is based on inequality and promotes natural “elitism.” It states that the living world is interconnected not only laterally, but also vertically, and establishes a hierarchy with the more evolved at the top of the evolutionary ladder of death and struggle and the less evolved at the bottom. When this principle is applied to mankind through Social Darwinism, as it has been by leaders like Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, or Mao Zedong, the end result is the destruction of millions and millions of innocent lives, justified by eliminating the “least fit”—often those of another race. Even in our country it has resulted in the Eugenics Movement, with thousands of black men being sterilized and some 50 millions babies being aborted, mostly minority babies. Darwinian evolution actually parallels racism in an astonishing way. Webster’s Dictionary defines racism as “a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities, and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of particular race.” Racism is based on “inherent superiority,” which is the guiding force of evolutionary progress. The same dictionary defines evolution as “the historical development of a biological group (as a race or species).” According to evolution, a race or species achieves dominance over time by developing natural traits (inherent) that are beneficial (superior) to the survival of that race/species. The similarity in terms cannot be denied. For evolution to exist, there has to be inequality in the groups. There are the weak and the strong, the more intelligent and the feeble minded, the more deserving and less deserving and those who will live and those who will die. Webster’s second definition of evolution makes its alliance to racism even clearer, calling it, “the distin- guishable differences due to modifications in successive generations.” This suggests that evolution must be subject to discernible distinctions between living forms. How does this apply to race? If we came from monkeys, there must be a progression of advantageous differences, like the ape-to-man developmental chart—among the races, too. The problem is, which race is going to occupy the inferior place nearest the ape and which is going to occupy the superior position furthest away? Evolution demands that one kind must be better than the other, so that the strongest or the most adapted wins the race for survival. It is a natural form of elitism, which when applied to humanity results in racism.

Darwin’s Racism Niles Eldridge, who was the curator of the American Museum of Natural History and a renowned evolution-ist who wrote, Darwin: Discovering the Tree of Life, gives much homage to Darwin and his work, stating,

He remains, like Lincoln, a symbol of a worldview—a view of what life is and how it came to be, and above all else, a view of who we humans are and how we came to be—that remains in some quarters a promise yet to fully realized and others a satanic thread against all that is good and holy.

While Darwin and Abraham Lincoln were born on the same day, February 12, 1809, comparing them is full of irony. Lincoln believed that mankind was created by God and often acknowledged the Almighty publicly. His belief in human equality led to the emancipation of the slaves and to the elevation of the ideal that no man is better than another. In contrast, Darwin denied the One that made him, the One that gave him life and the One that, through His grace gave him everlasting life. Darwin’s willful denial of a Creator led him to create a theory that reduces man to a highly evolved animal that descended from ape-like ancestors, which justifies racism.

Darwin’s book is now simply referred to as the Origin of Species, but the second half of original title, written not for a scientific audience, but the general public, was, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life. Darwin proposed that all living things are connected by common descent from a single, original organism. According to Eldridge and many others, Darwin’s identification of natural selection as the mechanism of evolution is what made him one the most renowned scientists of history. Defined as a process that naturally selects individuals that have the best chance of surviving due to evolved advantages, it suggests that any variation “to the least degree” not beneficial would be “rigidly destroyed.” Although Darwin never actually applied his theory to mankind in the Origin of Species, such implications certainly included man, as the word “Races” (which he used interchangeably with “species”) used in the original title indicates.

In 1871, twelve years after he published the Origin of Species, Darwin did address mankind in his book, Descent of Man. This is where Darwin’s theory fully unfolds and affirms his racist beliefs. In Darwin’s own words, the purpose of the book was to do away with the idea that man was a divinely created being with a God-given purpose. Darwin makes this clear in the introduction, writing,

The sole object this work is considered, firstly, whether man, like every other species, is descended from some pre-existing form; secondly, the manner of his development; and thirdly, the value of the differences between the so called races of man.

When it comes to mankind, disciples of Darwin who live by his ideology cannot escape the brutal trap of his “tree of life,” and the question of which race resides on the lowest branch and which gets the top spot. Speaking of the future evolution of man, Darwin wrote,

The break between man [and his nearest allies] will then be wider, for it will intervene between man in a more civilized state, as we may hope, than the Caucasian, and some ape as low as a baboon, instead as present between the negro or Australian (aborigine) and the gorilla.

Darwin clearly indicates a racial hierarchy here, with the Caucasian at the top and the Negro and aborigine at the bottom, and closest to the gorilla. He imagines that in “not very distant” future, the inferior races/species—i.e. the Negro, the Australian aborigine and the gorilla—would be eliminated, and that there would be a wider gap between a more highly evolved Caucasian and the baboon. As much as evolution-ists try to deny it or obscure it from view, it is evident in the plethora of Darwin’s literature, including his correspondence, papers and books, that Darwin and his theory are racist. With such a racist mentality, how can so many well-respected scientists like Niles Eldredge worship Darwin? And why is this the only acceptable theory of origins in our public schools?

America: A Creationist Nation What is so ironic is that our country’s heritage is totally contrary to the promotion of evolutionary theory. According to our Constitution, everyone has equal rights, like the freedoms established in the First Amend-ment of speech, press, assembly, petition and religion. Sadly, America’s embrace of Darwinism undermines our roots as a nation founded on rights that come from a Creator. Evolution also displaces the natural unifying factor of humanity that we are all descendents of one man and one woman, as the Bible tells us in Genesis. As the great historian Robert N. Proctor, a professor of the History of Science at Stanford University in1988, accurately states:

Prior to Darwin, it was difficult to argue against the Judeo-Christian conception of the unity of man, based on the single creation of Adam and Eve. Darwin’s theory suggested that humans had evolved over hundreds of thousands, even millions of years, and that the races of men had diverged while adapting to the particularities of local conditions. The impact of Darwin's theory was enormous.

Our founding fathers understood that man was not evolved, but created in God’s image, as stated in Genesis 1:26 and 1:27. It was their vision for the United States of America to be foundationally based on this Creator-God, who is the ultimate Lawgiver and Supreme Governor of man. Our country was meant to be subject to this Being from whom our equal rights are derived. The Founders understood that the concept of equal rights could only come from a Creator who created all men in His image, as stated three times in these verses. Many of them ministers, they also understood that all men are created with their own gifts and talents and have a God-given right to be free to use them to secure their livelihoods and happiness. The words in the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence eloquently state that human equality only comes from our Creator.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness — That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed…

Alan Keys, a former Assistant to the Secretary State and a candidate for the U.S. Presidency, also believes that a just government has to be Creator driven. As a student of Social Darwinism, he knows the inherent injustice of evolution as a guiding principle. Justice and equality come not from man, but only from God, as Keys eloquently states:

This may give comfort to human pride and arrogance, but it offers none to those who seek justice when the strong survive and dominate at the expense of human life, human dignity, and human freedom. Justice is not the good of the stronger. It is not the survival of the fittest. It is the universal birthright of all humanity, established not by our laws, not by our triumphs, and not even by our prayers, but by the will of the Creator.

At the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, despite the presence of slavery, there was an overwhelming understanding that mankind was specially and equally created with common human rights. This kind of creationist philosophy later gave birth to our country’s first higher educational institutions, such as Harvard, Yale and Princeton, where they not only studied God’s Word, but the works of His hands in creation and in the laws of universe—aka science. But today science has been perverted to mean evolution, and this racist ideology is being taught at all levels of our educational system.

(This topic is much too large to cover in one letter. I will follow up in Part 2 and describe how Darwinian evolution influenced wicked men who acted on its racist implications.)
