international television channel that focuses its content to Entertain andInform the Tamil speaking community living in foreign countries.

DAN first started as a satellite radio in 1994 and with the success of this

initial venture into borderless media, in 1997 DAN launched the first 24/7

Tamil language TV channel named DAN Tamil Oli The channel alsoclaims another first, that it being the first community channel to be transmitted

out of India and France.

via LBN cables.

At present DAN broadcast from their station in Paris, France on

Eurobird and ABS-1 satellites that covers entire

Europe

Middle East

Asia

DAN TV is the most popular, pioneer and one and only free to air channel (not

encrypted) thats reaches almost every geographical locations of Tamil

Diaspora in the world.

DAN TV started terrestrial transmission in Sri Lanka

and currently is available to viewers on UHF 51.

We claim as pioneers and one and only channel being

operates from Jaffna The heart of Tamils and Due

to the fact that we are the only channel covering local

issues and events we are well known within the Tamil

community in Sri Lanka enabling us to reach more

living rooms in a far shorter period of time.

Also like in Europe we are very much involved in the

society itself by participating as well as organizing many

activities to entertain as well as provide information to

the community.

In addition we have tie-up with local leading Tamil

news paper Virakesari to promote our TV cannel to

local market in a huge way.

Current Situation

Presently many Sri Lankan businesses are increasingly concentrating

their efforts to penetrate international markets. Attracting the SriLankan Diaspora living abroad to their products and services is the

key in making it big in this highly competitive environment.

The Tamil community living in Europe and Middle East is a veryimportant and influential segment of this population which is

estimated at over 1.5 million.

The challenge for most companies is to reach this community todirectly promote their goods and services.
