WHO SHOULD REPORT? Anyone who has had damage to their property in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, City of Fairbanks, and City of North Pole as a result of the November 12, 2013 severe winter storm - like a home, business, or personal belongings – should report it now. WHY ? Our community MAY be eligible for state or federal assistance to cover some of your uninsured losses and temporary housing costs. Developing an estimate of total uninsured damage in the community is a critical part of getting the help you and your neighbors need. HOW TO REPORT? Contact the Fairbanks North Star Borough Division of Emergency Management. After you report, tell your friends so they can report also. Use any of the contact methods shown below. WHEN? We need your preliminary information as soon as possible. WHAT HAPPENS THEN? We will compile that information and send it to the State of Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. The SOA DHS/EM will use this information to determine if individual assistance programs will be available as result of the November 12, 2013 severe winter storm. If the state makes assistance available you will be required to apply for assistance directly to the state at that time. WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IN THE MEANTIME? Clean up, make necessary repairs - but carefully document your damages (take pictures/video if you can) and save all estimates and receipts.
