I have over a decade worth of loyalty and commitment in the customer service / civil service sector, I am an outgoing person who possesses excellent communication skills and personality to function in a team, with the ability to adapt to any given situation. I am dynamic, confident and capable of using my own initiative in problem solving situations and am able to contribute to ideas which have led to new and exciting new developments. I possess excellent organisational and time management skills to successfully prioritise and manage a variety of projects. From July 2015 I took a career break to pursue my career/hobby as a professional drummer and travel around the country performing as a freelancer.

The role also required me to liaise with senior internal and external colleagues and stakeholders, such as Managing Directors, General Managers and HR Consultants of large organisations to assess current and future recruitment needs to find suitable employees to fit the role advertised.

In order to assess and understand the recruiting organisation’s needs, I was also required to work through CV’s and hold regular customer interviews to provide the best service possible.

I was required to provide coaching to customers by signposting and introducing them to appropriate training. Through this process I was able to assist them to recognise their requirement’s and needs whilst preparing those (customers) to become more employable with the required skills for that particular vacancy.

In addition to undertaking the role of a Personal Advisor, I was also responsible for looking after and maintaining the development, advertising & promotion of the Jobcentre Plus and support the team in any issues and problem solving as and when required.

As part of this role I have also acquired the skill for collating analytical data and forming statistical reports from varied information and data such as client information. This exercise helped to ensure that I as an individual and the team met their targets on a weekly and monthly basis.

May 2008 – July 2010: Jobcentre Plus DWP - Wembley, London

Benefit Enquiry Officer

This role involved working with the public and assessing their state benefits. This role included the following duties and responsibilities:

I was required to have face to face interaction with customers on a regular basis ensuring that state benefits were calculated correctly and paid out accordingly

Problem solve and dealing with queries was integral to this role, I was required to take lead on resolving customer problems by finding appropriate solutions to meet the desire outcomes for the jobcentre and the customer.

I was responsible for carrying regular checks and reporting on possible fraudulent activities looking at ways to resolve the issues with the best possible approach set through departmental procedures.

I was also required to consistently liaise across other benefit processing departments, to assist with resolving issues such as payments and making sure that all relevant information on customer records was updated on a regular basis.

I thrived on providing a professional service, exceeding customer service satisfaction through continually meeting department targets and customer’s needs and expectations.

Recruitment / Account Manager

For this role I was recruited as an Account Manager and was required to work at a Managerial level, with the managerial responsibility of 16 team members.My duties for this role was to;

To run recruitment drives and open days for various large supermarket chains such as ASDA, and J Sainsburys and other leading UK employers.

For this role I was required to assess applicants through applications and interviews and following them through to the final stages

I completed regular follow up reports for both the Jobcentre and the customer, this involved assessing the number of applicants that were successful against those that were unsuccessful and measuring outcomes and finding solutions

For this role and my commitment to the role and delivery I received a certificate for outstanding contributions to the DWP for customer service.

I currently teach young students drums/percussions, and actively take part in many live stage performances and studio session work.
