Professional career

A graduate from HEC Montréal with a degree in management with a specialization in human resources, what distinguishes Cynthia Cowan is her spirit of synthesis, analysis, creativity and initiative. Always focused on meeting the objectives of her clients, with a keen business sense, she demonstrates a strong ability to mobilize teams to work towards a common vision.

Cynthia had the opportunity to complete her Bachelor’s degree while simultaneously working at Telus Mobility. This professional experience allowed her to harness a participative management style within corporate stores. For 4 years she was a Store Manager who was oriented towards results and quality in customer service. She was responsible for staffing, achieving team objectives and disciplinary matters. As a change agent, she actively contributed to the training of professionals and managers who were living organizational change. Aware of the importance of procedures, Cynthia continued her experience with Telus as a Compliance Specialist where she developed skills in evaluation, analysis, management training and case preparation.

Cynthia then chose the path of consultation for the multinational, Randstad. Involved in the management of multiple special projects, she spent 5 years as a Staffing Consultant before moving up the ranks as a Senior Trainer for all of Canada, where she held the role of assessing and anticipating the company’s training needs as well as creating bilingual content and distributing it via different media. Highly skilled with new technologies, Cynthia actively participated in the implementation of an online training platform that facilitated the monitoring of learners’ development and the integration of new employees, of the order of more than 100 per year. She thus diversified the modes of knowledge transmission that alternated between in-person training, webinars and e-learning while optimizing the combination of costs, environments and desired efficiency.

Cynthia is actively involved as a mentor for Academos to encourage students to choose the job that drive them. This organization supports young people between the ages of 14 and 30 to gain a better understanding of the workforce, helping them to achieve their goals and to combat early school dropouts.
