TEACHING AND EDUCATION

I was involved in the teaching of Industrial chemistry courses for the program of BS Industrial Chemistry as well as general chemistry courses for other programmes at the Department. I have been involved in the teaching of a postgraduate course - CHM 6001 (Recent Advances in Chemical Research) since its inception in 2002. In addition, I have taught other courses such as Kinetics, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. I have also been involved in the training of researchers (from other departments and institutions) in protein purification techniques, the techniques of protein modification as well as in bioorganic syntheses. I was also involved in organizing workshops that trained participants in the production of low cost instruments to be used in chemistry laboratories. I have participated in designing courses for training laboratory assistants in the use of instrumentation.

instrumentation such as Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography (FPLC), Gas

Chromatography (GC), Autotitrator, Particle size analyzer, High Pressure

Homogenizer.
