SCC Certification Body ISO Guide 65 accreditation allows TÜV SÜD to perform electrical safety certifcation to Canadian electrical safety standards (CSA). NRTL recognition acknowledges that TÜV SÜD is

knowledgeable, competent, and recognized to perform electrical safety testing to U.S. electrical safety standards (UL/ANSI).

TÜV SÜD is A2LA-accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 to conduct electrical safety testing to the many North American and European standards.

Compliance to the electrical safety standards may bemandatory for a product to enter the respectivemarkets.

The NRTL ProgramThe Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) program was created by OSHA as part of their Directorate ofTechnical Support and Emergency Management program. NRTLs are private organizations recognized by OSHA as being able to determine whether products have met agreed-upon safety standards for use in the U.S. workplace. NRTLs are not government agencies, nor are they subsidized by the U.S. government.
