• Isn’t thIs just an InternatIonal wIth a Cat nameplate?

• no! This truck was completely designed by Caterpillar. It has what Cat likes to call “Cat DNA”. They did take the Paystar model from International as the base foundation to work from and to begin with but they completely redesigned it based on feedback from over 500 interviews with truck drivers and fleets in the construction industry. Cat has selected all of the engine parameters, torque, horsepower ratings, etc. Cat builds their own automatic transmission that is far superior to any other transmission in the market and it is NOT available in any other brand of truck, including International. The front suspension was designed by Cat. The steering gears and functionality are all Cat.

Cat specifically designed the truck for serviceability, which decreases service and maintenance costs. The “doghouse” was designed to be easier to access the top-end components in the engine. Maintenance components (coolant, oil filter, washer reservoir, & air filters, etc.) are all positioned together and serviceable from the ground without special tooling. Headlights, headlight bulbs, gauges, etc. require no special tooling and are easy to replace.

Driver retention is also a key factor to how they designed the cab. Industry leading sound suppression comes standard in the Cat truck. Cat designed a 2-air bag bladder system that sits wider than competitors and creates a superior ride quality while also offering a more spacious cab.

The 54” set back axle is industry leading, unlike International or any other truck in the vocational market. This allows for greater maneuverability. Combine that with the front suspension designed by Caterpillar and you have an excellent ride quality. All of these are Cat designs and are different than International.

• does the truck only come in cat yelloW?

• A: No, you can get any color you like. We have a paint book with over 100 different colors but we can match paint to an existing paint code also.

• can i get a sleeper option?

• There are no factory sleeper options. There are after market sleepers that can be added and they range in size from 36” to 48” deep.

• what If I don’t want a set baCk axle?

• The next model to be released is the CT680 which will be a set forward axle. These will be available to order in the first quarter of 2013.

• why should I buy the new Cat truCk? I don’t Want to be the first one With a neW product.

• The only things new are the designs of the cab and hood and the integration of the engine and transmission, if you

specify the CX-31. The truck is manufactured in a contract agreement with International. The

base chassis is the same chassis used by International and others and is already

proven. The engine is proven as it has been running since 2009. Cat has had the transmission running in over the road and vocational markets since

2006. The core of the CT660 is proven already and has been running for years.

• so Why should i buy?

• Caterpillar is a world class organization with quality and service second to none. They are not going to put their name on an inferior product. Ring Power is a superb dealership that has been taking care of customers in Florida successfully for 50 years. We stand by our products and stand behind every one of our valued customers.

Q&A’s Q&A’s The Cab design is based from the International Paystar and is completely redesigned by Cat engineers. The only things left from the Paystar cab are the roof cap and the back panel. Doors, cab structure, etc. are all new designs proprietary to Cat.• cowl mounted mirrors are standard. Eliminates adjusting, tightening, and constant replacement of mirror heads.• Cab is 100% aluminum to reduce weight allowing you to haul more freight.• hood slope which offers best in class visibility originated from the rear slope of the new machines Cat is producing. • interior design based on feedback from over 500 drivers.• reduced noise – buzz, squeaks, rattles (BSR’s) were major considerations in the design of the cab interior. No doors, even in the glove compartment, as these eventually become rattle traps in competitors trucks.• All switches are large enough to be operated with gloves on and all are close enough to allow the driver to safely operate the vehicle without having to reach too far making for a dangerous driving situation.• hood is made from a material called metton – lighter weight and much smoother and stronger than fiberglass.• hood has several parts and components that are replaceable without having to replace the entire hood - unlike our competition.

• steps are wider than competition allowing dirt to fall through and not get into the cab. They also have a skid resistant design to prevent slips and falls.

• The proprietary features of the CT660 are the Cab, engine, and transmission.• The frame rails on the CT660 are 12 ¾” tall by 3/8” thick which is strong enough in most applications to eliminate the need for a “double” or a “wrapped” frame.• The CT660 features a Set - Back Axle with two cab lengths (116”, 122”)• Has the deepest setback (bumper to front axle measurement), creating an extra tight turning radius for superior maneuverability.• Axles, wheels, tires, brake systems, etc. are all the same as every other truck manufacturer and come from suppliers such as Dana, Eaton, Meritor, Bendix, SKF, Truck-lite, Haldex, etc.• 65% of all trucks are built with the same parts from the same suppliers listed above. • Eaton automated manual and fully manual transmissions are available in 10 to 18 speed options.• Front axles and suspensions range from 12,000 lbs. to 23,000 lb. capacities.• Rear axles and suspensions range from 40,000 lbs. to 58,000 lb. capacities.

• Basic vehicle coverage is 12 months, unlimited miles.• Towing (vehicles with CT11/CT13 engine failures only) is covered for 24 months, unlimited miles.• Frame side rails, Cab/Cowl structure, perforation, corrosion are all covered for 60 months, unlimited miles.• Cab paint is covered for 12 months or 100,000 miles.• Engine (CT11/CT13) is covered for 24 months, unlimited miles.• Engine (CT11/CT13) Injection Nozzles are covered for 24 months, 150,000 miles.• Engine (CT11/CT13) Major Components are covered for 60 months, or 500,00 miles.• Drivetrain with rear axle weight ratings less than 52,000 lbs. cover the front axle, rear axle and differential, and transmission** for 36 months or 300,000 miles.• Drivetrain with rear axle weight ratings greater than 52,000 lbs. cover the front axle, rear axle and differential, and transmission** for 12 months, unlimited miles.• Cat CX-31 transmission is covered for 24 months, unlimited miles.• Additional Extended Service Coverage (ESC) is available for purchase for up to Seven Years; 500,000 miles; or 15,000 hours.

• Changed the housing to a aluminum housing to decrease weight. Improved shift quality to “automotive type shifting”. Improved serviceability and added standard industry PTO mounting options along with the only rear mounted PTO option in the industry.• Select the Rear mounted PTO option for increased torque (800 ft. lbs.) and speed (125% of engine speed) outputs. This allows you to operate at lower engine RPM’s. • Side mounted PTO’s have 700 ft. lbs. of torque output and run as the same speed as the engine.• Synthetic transmission oil is standard which increases life and decreases maintenance intervals.

uautomatic transmissions are new for caterpillar. Caterpillar has been producing Automatic Powershift Transmissions since the 1950s. The CX is a derivative of these transmissions.

uautomatic transmissions are too complicated to spec. Less variety to chose from, and error, make the automatic much easier to specify than a manual. One size fits all.

• CX-31 transmission is a 100% Cat developed product. Has been used it Cat 725 series\articulated dump trucks (off road) since the 1990’s.• 6-speed transmission – 6 forward, 1 reverse Simply put it in Reverse, or Drive and away you go. Put it in Neutral and set your parking brake when you are done. Anybody can drive this which greatly increases your driver pool.

• Constant power to the ground improves fuel efficiency. 6% to 8% better fuel economy than the only other fully automatic transmission in the market.

CT11 and CT13 engines are based on the MaxForce platform from Navistar which was built originally from the MAN engine in Europe. Several features were changed specific to Cat specifications and designs.• Serviced only by Caterpillar full-line dealers.• CT11 engines offered with 330HP, 365HP, 370HP, and 390HP options and torque ranges from 1250 to 1450 LB-FT @ 1000 RPM.• CT13 engines offered with 410HO, 430HP, and 475HP options and torque ranges from 1450 to 1700 LB-FT @ 1000 RPM.• Advanced EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) Emissions Control System – eliminates the need for Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF or commonly known as Urea) • Not having the DEF tank can save up to 500 lbs. and eliminates the hassle of the driver keeping a jug of fluid in the cab in case the truck starts to lose power. • High-pressure common rail fuel system

some of the myths about fully automatic torque converter transmissions and the

Cat Cx-31 specifically:

• Compact graphite iron block – stronger than standard iron, yet it saves weight, as much as 500 pounds lighter than competitive engines.• Twin-series turbochargers with interstage cooler.• In-line 6-Cylinder, 4 valves per cylinder, overhead cam actuated.• CT15 – our 15 liter engine, using the Cat C15 block and head and the Navistar/MAN fuel system will be available in July of 2012 with horsepower ranges from 425HP to 550HP and torque outputs.

ct11/ct13 engine maintenance schedules• Oil change interval – 12 months or 25,000 miles (more with SOS analysis)• Coolant should be changed at 36 months or 300,000 miles unless you use the Shell Rotella ELC Extender which can then last 6-years or 600,000 miles.• Fuel filter – 12 months or 25,000 miles

uCt13 engine is too small for my area, I’m waiting for the ct15. The CT13 475hp @1700 lb. ft. torque with a CX31 increases starting power/response and will compete/out perform a CT15 550hp @1850 lb. ft. torque with a manual.

uautomatic transmissions are far less efficient than manual transmissions. While automatic transmissions are less efficient in a steady state, the real savings of automatics is the result of the ability to seamlessly apply power throughout the operating range, improving performance and fuel economy.

MYTHS CONTINuED...

• Engine Valve Adjustment – 250,000 miles• Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) – 1st cleaning at 100,000 miles or 3,000 hours; 2nd to 8th cleanings at every 4,500 hours or 150,000 mile intervals. DPF filter will need to be replaced at 1.2 million miles.• Crankcase breather system – 3,000 hours or 100,000 miles.
