    Start the Transfer Process Become a Bear: Checklist for Students Do you want to be a Bear? Begin your transfer process by following the steps below. Review our admissions requirements for transfer students:

    You must have completed 24 or more transferable hours and a 2.0 GPA or higher.

    If you have completed fewer than 24 hours, then you must have a 2.0 GPA and meet the freshman admission requirements.

    Submit your application.

    You may apply for admission as early as one year before you wish to transfer. Applying early may allow you to register with current students and help you meet scholarship deadlines.

    Complete the Undergraduate Admission Application and submit the nonrefundable $35 application fee.

    Send your official college transcripts.

    You dont have to complete your current coursework before sending transcripts. Request that any transcripts be mailed directly from your school(s) to the Office of Admissions. You should also send transcripts from any additional colleges or universities that you have attended. When you graduate or complete the semester, request that a final transcript be mailed directly to Missouri State at:

    Transfer Students You are considered a transfer student if you have enrolled in another regionally accredited college or university following your graduation from high school. Your eligibility for admission will be based on the number of credit hours you have completed. For more information, you may visit http://www.missouristate.edu/transfer/.

    Transfer Admission Requirements Transfer students must meet the following requirements:

    Or you can download, print, and mail in the paper application for undergraduate

    2. Pay the application processing fee of $35

    This can be paid with a credit or debit card when you complete your online application.

    You may also pay by check with your paper application. Cash payments are only accepted at the Bursars Office.

    3. Send official transcripts

    If you have completed course work at your current college, please send those transcripts with your application. You should also send transcripts from any additional colleges or universities that you have attended.     Priority Deadlines Both your university and financial aid applications have important deadlines which you should be sure to meet. The following dates will help you stay on track as you prepare for your time at Missouri State.

    October 1 Scholarship applications for spring semester December 20 Application deadline for spring semester March 1 Scholarship applications for students entering in the summer

    FAFSA: Federal Application for Student Aid Federal Student Aid is responsible for managing the student financial assistance programs. These programs provide grants, loans, and work-study funds to students attending college or career school.

    It is important to complete your FAFSA prior to the March 31 priority deadline to ensure eligibility for grants and work-study, as these funds are limited.

    To apply for student aid online, please go to the FAFSA website at

    https://fafsa.ed.gov/. You must know the school code to complete the FAFSA application. The Missouri

    State University school code is 002503. You MUST complete your FAFSA application by April 1 to be considered for aid

    from the state of Missouri.

    Admission Decision You will receive notification of your application decision via the contact information you provided. You should hear from us within three weeks of the date we receive your application, fee and all required transcripts and documentation. If you are a new student, you will receive information regarding orientation, registration, housing and financial aid, as well as other information to help you prepare for your first semester. Be sure to check that your welcome folder includes your student identification number (BearPass ID), as this is your user name for MSUs student portal and BlackBoard access.     42 hours of transferable credits and a minimum of a 3.40 GPA

    Equivalent Courses for Basic General Education A completed Associate of Arts Degree from Crowder will automatically satisfy all MSU general education requirements, although specific courses may be required by a particular major. Students with Associate of Applied Science degree or Associates of Science degree from Crowder may need to complete additional courses to satisfy degree requirements.     Advising Each department and academic program has a specific transfer advisor to help you understand our program requirements, review your transfer credit and ease your transition to Missouri State. You should schedule an appointment with your academic areas transfer advisor upon admittance to Missouri State. This meeting will help you develop an academic plan and determine the appropriate classes for your first semester at MSU. You must meet with an advisor to register for classes.

    Undecided Advisors If you are trying to decide among several majors or have not declared a major, contact the transfer advisor for undeclared student at the Academic Advisement Center, (417) 836-5258. Undeclared Students Age 24 or Older Adult Student Services assists nontraditional students balance family, work and school responsibilities.
