IntroductionThis document is prepared to give deep understanding about the root cause of critical error occurrence in Apply/Modify leave application.

Critical error is classified into three types.

1. Authorization issue2. Functional issue3. Technical issue

Critical error may occur in two scenarios.

Scenario 1: (While click on apply/Modify Leave link)While clicking the Apply/Modify leave application link, throws critical error. This may be due to Authorization issue or Functional issue.

Scenario 2: (while click on Review button in Apply/Modify Leave Application)While click on Review button in Apply/Modify application, throws critical error. This may be due to technical issue.

Critical Error – Root cause

Authorization issue:While click on Apply/Modify Leave application link in portal, throws critical error may due to authorization issue.

In that case, check whether the required roles are assigned to the employee in back end.

Role for Wipro InfoTech Employees

HR-WI-ESS-LEAVE_APPL

Role for Wipro Technologies Employees

HR-WT-ESS-LEAVE_APPL

Using SU01 transaction code, check the employee is assigned with above mentioned roles.

1. Type the User id (ADID) in the input user field.

2. Check the highlighted roles are assigned to the user.

Functional issue:While click on Apply/Modify Leave application link in portal, throws critical error may due to Functional issue.

Use PTARQ transaction code to check whether the employee is having proper rule group assignment.

To ensure the rule group assignment follow the below steps

1. Go to PTARQ

2. Click on Determine Rule Group button

3. Select Up to today (highlighted in red box) and pass the employee number in Personnel Number field (highlighted in red box).Click on Execute or press F8.

4. In the below screen WEBMO column is empty. This is the reason for the critical error.

Technical issueWhile click on Review button in Apply/Modify leave application, throws critical error due to some technical issue.

There may be some erroneous records in workflow table cause critical error. Follow the below steps to check whether the workflow records having error status.

1. Go to PTARQ

2. Click on Display Documents

3. Check for any record with Error status

Any error record found will be the root cause of critical error. If there is no error record, then it may due to non availability of link between workflow tables.

ConclusionBased on the nature of issue different teams can handle and resolve.

Authorization issue solution If found as authorization issue and the employee is eligible for leave transaction, request Basis team to assign proper authorization in backend.

If found as authorization issue and if the employee is not eligible for leave transaction, request portal team to block the application for the user.

Functional issue solutionIf found as functional issue, forward to leave functional team with proper comments. Comments will help the consultant to understand the nature of issue and help in providing quick solution.

Technical issue solution If found as technical issue, forward to leave technical team with proper comments (For instance: Record with error status or check for the link between workflow tables). This may help the consultant to fix the issue quickly.
