Tudor Barn Eltham is all that remains of the country mansion built in 1525 by
William Roper for Margaret Moore, daughter of Thomas Moore, Lord Chancellor
to King Henry VIII. Set within 13 acres of award winning parkland and overlook-
ing a mediaeval moat, Tudor Barn Eltham is one of only a handful of Tudor Barns
still standing today and the only one in London.
The 16th century barn is a haven of peace and tranquillity situated just 20-minutes
from central London and offers the perfect ‘rural’ wedding location within the M25.
Every wedding at Tudor Barn Eltham is truly unique and your special day will
share the romance of some of history’s most celebrated marriages, including
that of Hubert Bland and Edith Nesbit, author of The Railway Children. The
Tudor Gallery, our first floor event space, boasts original Tudor beams and
historic stained glass windows whilst the beautiful building is surrounded by
landscaped gardens and outdoor areas such as the Moat Terrace and the Tudor
Lawn – ideal locations for summer receptions.

The Tudor Gallery is licensed to host civil ceremonies and partnerships for 60 to
200 guests and, with the ability to partition off smaller areas, the Gallery is also
ideal for smaller weddings of 30-60 guests*.
We also offer a ceremony-only, two-hour hire option for those wishing to simply tie
the knot, enjoy a drinks reception and pose for photos in the stunning parkland.

Greenwich Registry Office on 020 8921 5015 for further details on how to apply
for your licence and book your registrar.

After tying the knot the Tudor Gallery, hired exclusively for your wedding day,
will be transformed into a fairytale venue in which to continue your celebrations.
This first floor Gallery features a private entrance leading directly from our Tudor
Lawn – ideal for al fresco drinks receptions. Accommodating up to 150 guests for
a seated wedding breakfast and up to 200 for your evening party the Tudor Gal-
lery is totally self-contained with a fully-stocked bar and toilets on the same floor.
Our event planners will work with you on all elements of your day – providing
guidance with itineraries, layouts, choosing colours, booking your wedding sup-
pliers and sourcing entertainment.
For larger weddings our Tudor Lawn can accommodate a marquee for up to
300 dining guests or, for smaller, more intimate gatherings our restaurant can be
exclusively hired for up to 50 guests.

At Tudor Barn Eltham we take our food seriously and truly understand what an
important part of your day the catering plays. Working hand in hand with our
in-house chefs we have designed a range of menus to suit all seasons, tastes
and budgets.
As well as seasonal menu options we offer bespoke menu creation, hot fork
buffets, al fresco dining such as barbeques and hog roasts, canapés, vintage
afternoon teas and cultural cuisine (eg: Indian and Afro-Caribbean).
As part of your booking at Tudor Barn Eltham we provide a group tasting
experience where you and your other half can try EVERY dish from our seasonal
menus as well as a selection of wines before deciding on your final wedding
breakfast choices.
All special diets are catered and we offer a well thought out two-course chil-
dren’s menu for your little guests.

Tudor Barn Eltham delights in recommending a selection of carefully chosen
suppliers all of whom we have worked closely with or had recommended to us
as experts in their field. Our hand-picked suppliers are renowned for their qual-
ity, reliability and exceptional services and are familiar with our beautiful historic
venue and the restrictions that apply under current English Heritage guidelines.
In order to protect and preserve our Grade II* listed building all entertainment
for your big day must be booked and managed by our accredited entertainment
partner, Staar Productions. You can contact them directly or discuss your ideas
and plans with your wedding planner or indeed, any of our knowledgeable and
experienced events team.

including ceremony entertainment such as Baby Grand Piano hire, Pianist, String Quartet,

How to find us
By Public Transport
Eltham Railway Station is only 5 minutes
away with fast trains to London Bridge
via Lewisham (DLR). There are also reg-
ular Buses (124, 132, 160, 161 and 286) to
Bromley, Catford, Chislehurst, Eltham and
Woolwich.
Parking Facilities
Tudor Barn has no parking facilities ons-
ite, however parking can be accommo-
dated along Kidbrooke Lane, which must
be accessed from Westhorne Avenue.
Well Hall Road has a 90 minute parking
restriction.
The Pleasaunce
Well Hall Pleasaunce was restored in
2002 with money from the Heritage Lot-
tery Fund and has since won the pres-
tigious Green Flag Award. The recorded
history of the site dates back to the 13th
century and in Tudor times it was owned
by the Roper family and the walled gar-
dens are from those times. Its most cel-
ebrated occupant was children’s author
Edith Nesbit and lived there from 1899
until 1922.
By Road
The South Circular (A205), A2(M) and
A20(M) are only minutes away giving fast
access to the whole of London and Kent.
The M25 is 15 minutes away.
