    1. Course Objective and Scope :Objective of this course is to explain to the student the role of IT in organizations and value

    derived from IT. Make students familiar strategic importance of IT in Business discuss

    strategies to leverage IT for competitive advantage. Enable students to appreciate ITs role

    in Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship

    Management and concepts of Databases, Data-warehousing and Business Intelligence.

    Introduce Decision Support Systems and Management Information Systems as key to

    successful management of business.

    Strategic Information Systems for competitive advantage. Porters five forces model,

    Value chain model

    Introduction to Computer Networks

    Transaction Processing, Functional applications, CRM and integration

    Concepts of Supply Chain Management and Enterprise Resource Planning
