COSMOS is a four-week residential program for talented and motivated students completing grades 8-12. Spring Engineering Education Days

The SEEDs Program provides Bay Area high school sophomores and juniors with a unique opportunity to begin exploring engineering in hopes for fostering future engineering study. Participants come to the Santa Clara University campus on three Saturdays in April to attend workshops providing an introduction to various engineering disciplines. All workshops are introductory in nature and will include a mixture of lecture presentations and hands-on experiences facilitated by Santa Clara University professors.

Selected participants must attend all sessions fully.

Senior Odyssey at UCSC

COST: Free

By the end of the course you will have completed a draft of your personal statement. Additionally, you will practice filling out a college and financial aid application.

The Senior Odyssey summer program is an intensive five-day long course designed to prepare you for the process of applying to college in the fall. The first two days of the program will be held at your high school. The final three days will be held on the University of California, Santa Cruz campus. The program will include transportation to and from UCSC, housing at the campus for two nights, and meals for the entire time we are on the UCSC campus.

The Odyssey will be held June 26-June 30, 2017.

FIRST: Apply for EAOP in the NMCHS Career Center

If you are interested in this course, please fill out the application given to you by the EAOP Staff. This course is open to current juniors at NMC, Seaside, Watsonville, Pajaro Valley, and Overfelt High Schools. Students must be planning to apply to a four-year college, must have a minimum GPA of a 2.5 and must be on track to completing their A-G requirements. In addition, all students accepted into the program must commit to attending the entire program (no absences will be allowed) and must pay a $10 deposit. Space is limited to 20 students per school.

STANFORD MEDICAL YOUTH SCIENCE PROGRAM

Is a Five week enrichment program that takes place annually from mid-June to late July. It offers an opportunity for students to attend lectures given by medical professors and staff members as well as hospital experience where participants are placed to volunteer two days a week in the Stanford hospitals and clinics or at the Veterans Administration Healthcare System in Palo Alto.

This program offers 9th grade girls the opportunity to explore the field of Artificial Intelligence

SAILORS is a two-week residential summer program that exposes current 9th grade girls to the exciting field of Artificial Intelligence.

UPWARD BOUND Summer Program

Upward Bound provides a six-week residential experience to program participants at CSU Monterey Bay. Students come to campus from mid-June through mid-July and enroll in college credit courses. Upward Bound summer program participants also participate in extracurricular and enrichment activities, such as: high/low rope course, an etiquette dinner, bike tour, kayaking in Monterey Bay, and a university tour.
