Can you imagine being homeless on your 18th birthday? On January 6th, 2015 we begin our sixth year serving girls who have aged out of foster care and/or have been orphaned by critical supports. These girls are the ones who have slipped through the cracks and are living life one day at time, trying simply to survive. They were once invisible to the community around them, without a place to call home . . . but no longer.

Saving Grace is passionate about helping members of this forgotten population realize their full potential and unlock the doors of opportunity. We provide housing and life skills education for girls 18-25 years old (17 if emancipated), and we are driven by the desire to instill the skills and attitudes necessary to break cycles of poverty and abuse that can so easily entangle. We are able to do this through our unique approach and high expectations for those we serve. Our ultimate mission is to equip our “Girls of Grace” with lifelong relationships and tools needed for long-term self-sustainability.

This mission, however, is not just ours. We rely on the generous hearts of our community and supporters to help provide necessary program services and supports. We are asking you to “BE THE ONE” this year by sponsoring our Sixth Annual Butterflies & Blooms Luncheon at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center on Thursday, April 16th, 2015 at 11:30 A.M. We anticipate this year to be even bigger and far reaching!

In fact, as the luncheon has grown each year, the cost of the event has also gone up. We are always careful to simply cover the cost of the event with our sponsors, giving us the freedom to invite guests versus selling tickets to our event (which has increased awareness, total donations, and our volunteer base). Because of the growing numbers related to our luncheon, we are raising our sponsorship

DEAR FRIEND OF SAVING GRACE,Interesting facts about our event

Our first annual Butterflies & Blooms had 220 people in attendance. In 2014, we were ab le to share our mission and vision with nearly 1100 members of the NWA community.

We do not sell tickets to the event, but instead ask Saving Grace “champions” to invite friends and community members who may not be familiar with the need for a program like Saving Grace in NWA.

On average, we raise one-third of our annual budget on the day of the luncheon.

Suzie is an International Proverbs 31 Ministries speaker and author, former radio co-host, and Bible Gateway blogger. She has been featured on programs such as Focus on the Family, Aspiring Women, The Harvest Show, KLOVE, It’s a Miracle, MidDay Connection, DayStar, and hundreds of other radio and television programs.

She served as co-host of the syndicated radio show, Encouragement Cafe with host Luann Prater. She is an author of articles, columns, and seven books including her most recent books: The Unburdened Heart: Finding the Freedom of Forgiveness and The Mended Heart: God’s Healing for Your Broken Places. She writes devos for Encouragement for Today with Proverbs 31 Ministries that reach 750,000 women across the world, also featured on Crosswalk.com and Believe.com.

Most important, she’s a mom, wife, and “Gaga” to five beautiful babies. Suzie lives in NW Arkansas and when she’s not writing or speaking, she’s with her family, or hiking, or at the Farmer’s Market!
