“Quick, Simple Workflow Example”
This “Participant’s Guide is one Component of
“Introduction To CCH ViewPlan”
There are four lessons in the “Introduction To CCH ViewPlan”
training course. You should take them in consecutive order.
Each lesson has both a Participant’s Guide and an audio file (MP-3).
In order to take this lesson you will need the audio file as well as this
Participant’s Guide.
You will also need a copy of CCH ViewPlan loaded on your PC.
If you do not own CCH ViewPlan software,

• Beneficiaries
– From Estate Details box, select “Beneficiaries and Distributions”
• Enter one “Child” and one “Grandchild”
– Click “Add” button
– Select “Type”
– Fill in information
• Name
• Date of birth
• “Projections”
– Note year of death
– Other tabs specify distribution
• From both estates, QTIP
• Default is equal distribution to all beneficiaries

• Plans
– ViewPlan automatically creates 3 “Plans”
• Plan 01
– “All To Spouse” will
– Normal actuarial dates of death
– No “Advanced Transfer”
• Plan 02
– “Optimum Marital”
» All to surviving spouse except amount equal to unified credit
– Normal actuarial dates of death
– No “Advanced Transfer”
• Plan 03
– “No Marital”
» Nothing to surviving spouse

– Select a Plan from plan box in navigation control

Basic Reports
• Basic Reports – Communicate the estate tax results of a Plan
– There are 3 styles of Basic Reports
• Flow Chart
• Graph Report
• Calculations Report
– When a Plan is selected, the Flow Chart displays
– Other Report styles are selected using the report style icons

Flow Charts
• Flow Chart shows property flow & taxes at each death– Top boxes show estate values at first death
• Lower figure is net after administrative expenses
– Middle box
• First figure is value after first death
• Lower figure is value at second death
– Bottom box shows amount passing to beneficiaries
• After tax is paid
– Green arrows indicate tax free transfers
– Red arrows indicate tax is being paid
– At the bottom is a detail of taxes

• Graph Report is pie chart – Showing distribution of entire estate

• Run the “ATS” Plan
– Use the Plan selection “Navigation
control” box to select “Plan 01”, the
All to Spouse plan
– The Flow Chart will appear in the
workspace
– Select the other two styles using the
icons circled in the illustration

don’t set up a Bypass Trust?
• Run the “OM” Plan
– Use the Plan selection “Navigation

– Select plan to compare
• Compare any 2 or 3 plans
– Select Plan; Click “Add” button

Client Presentations
• The Product• High quality printed work product
• Communicates your recommendations to client
• Incorporates Reports from some of your Plans
– You select which Reports & which Plans
• The Process
– Using the Client Presentations Wizard:
• Choose the reports to communicate plans to clients
– Reports are organized in “Report Groups”
» Users can create their own Report Groups
• Choose the Plans you want to share with the Clients
– Usually “Baseline” and one or more “Recommendations”
• Create Comparison Reports
– Unlimited number
– Calculations or Graph styles
• Set printing order & display options for all Reports
• Select Cover Page and page numbering options
• View Client Presentation
– Use “Print Preview” icon

• Repeat for as many comparisons as desired
– Create one Graph style

• Click on “Next” button
