Contest « My Project»Last March, the members of the selection committee of the contest « My project» chose Fanny Lapierre’s project for the grand prize « Passion ». The Desjardins Foundation offered a grand prize of $ 5,000 as well as 5 prizes of $ 1,000 for this contest aimed at students who submit a project that they value greatly and who have the desire to work around these two questions:

In brief, here is Fanny Lapierre’s project: It consists of a 4 –week stay in Costa Rica during which a group of 16 young people from the islands, including Ms. Lapierre, contributed to the realisation of a composting and community garden project.Congratulations Fanny Lapierre for this magnificent project and for knowing how to make the Caisse des Ramées a partner of choice in the realisation of your future project.

Contest «Ecological Desjardins »For the contest, Ecological Desjardins, and its theme “Springing Energy from Water”, which was for primary school teachers, Ms. Marielle Bourgeois, teacher at Iris School in Bassin was chosen by the jury for her project.

Ms. Bourgeois’s class was awarded a prize of $ 300 applicable to a class outing and having been rated Super Prof, Ms. Bourgeois received a prize of $ 100. All the students, as well as the teacher, received a set of collector’s coins of the 400th anniversary of Québec. BRAVO!

It is with pleasure that I present in the pages of Info Ramées, a brief account of the general assembly of our caisse that was held in the presence of 454 people April 20, 2009.

Strong in its business volume of 372 million, an increase of 10.8 % compared to the previous year. Savings accrued by 10,893 M$ to settle at 160,043 M$ an increase of 7.3 % compared to last year. However, considering the financial context, the members turned towards traditional savings products where the… experienced important growth.

The total financing of the caisse is 209,136 M$ with a global growth of 13.36 % this year. Loans at the caisse make up a big part of the activities and increased by 10.16 % while the financing with the components progressed strongly with an annual growth of 77.42 %.

The assets of your financial cooperative accrued by 14.0 M$ placing them at 213, 7 M$, an increase of 7 % compared to last year. Despite the worldwide financial crisis, the results are rather interesting in spite of the decrease in surplus earnings which are at 1,346 M$.

This year, the patronage allocations returned to the members total $ 625, 026, an amount of $ 150, 000 to the reserve for future patronage allocations and an amount of $ 250, 000 for the Fonds d’aide au développement du milieu (FADM).

During the last exercise, an amount of $ 111, 750 was paid out in the form of donations and sponsorships, a sum that helps out the various organisations working on the caisse’s territory.
