We welcome Hunter Long to Beaver Ridge today. Hunter is currently a sophomore at Johnson University, formerly known as Johnson Bible College, and is studying preaching and church leadership. He has assisted with student ministry for the past few years at his home church, Powell United Methodist. Hunter accepted God's call into full-time ministry in 2014.

Reminder to All Youth

The youth will be meeting at Karns High School tomorrow

at 3:30 to serve a pre-game meal to the JV football team.

New Session of Weight Accountability to Begin

A new session of Weight Accountability will start Septem-

ber 7th. Cost is $10 for 10 weeks. Pay an additional $1.00 for

each pound gained during the session. Come to the church

office each Wednesday between 5:30-6:00 to weigh in.

School Supplies Collected for KES

As a mission project, Dorcas Circle is collecting items for

the kindergarten wing at Karns Elementary: Play-Doh Paper Towels Clorox Wipes

Glue Sticks Hand Sanitizer Toys from Dollar Tree for

Treasure Chest

These items will be delivered the first of September. You

may place donations in the designated basket in the office

hallway. Contact person is Gloria Lunsford, 617-1201.

Recycle Your Unwanted Electronics

Ecycle will be here this week to pick up old computers and

other electronic devices that you no longer need. They

accept and recycle most electronics. Drop off in the

Education Building (table under windows) by Wednesday.

FLC Storage Workday

There will be a FLC Storage Room Workday on Saturday,

Sept. 10th. Come and help us clean, straighten and pitch! If

anything in the room belongs to you or your group, please

have a representative here that morning.

Sign Up for Muddy Pond

The Senior Beavers will meet at the church at 9:00 am on

Tuesday, September 13 to go to Muddy Pond. We will be

taking the vans so be sure to get your name on the list!

Lunch will be at the Cumberland Park Restaurant. Call BJ @

690-1680 or Jackie @ 690-1187 to reserve your seat.

HOPE Prayer Vigil

South Sudan is in crisis - five years after becoming the

newest nation of the world. The human condition is deteri-

orating. There is no food or medicines coming into the

country and they are looking at massive famine. And, the

fighting continues. A Holston Conference Day of Prayer for

South Sudan will be held on September 1st. For twenty-four

hours, Holston will join the people of South Sudan in pray-

ing together for hope and peace in a war-torn, poverty

stricken country. The Oak Ridge District is asked to join this

prayer vigil specifically between the hours of 9:00-10:00am

and 9:00-10:00pm. Please take a moment during these

hours on Thursday to pray for the people of South Sudan.
