We hope that Spring Break was a recharge for you and your family.
We had a General Meeting this week, and the membership voted on the PTA’s gift to the school. The first gift was a metal surround on the school marquee to ensure that the new plastic will stay in place. The second gift voted upon was a recycle cart to be added to the teacher workroom to recycle paper more easily.
Our nomination committee has been working diligently to present you with a slate of officers for the 2017-2018 school year. The vote will take place at our next meeting on April 12th during the staff luncheon. If you would like to run from the floor, please come to this meeting.

The district VIPS luncheon will be held on May 3rd at 11:30 a.m. Please visit www.HEBISD.edu to update your volunteer information and log hours and donations in the VIPS system, so you can receive an invitation to attend the yearly luncheon. Your VIPS record can also be used for tax purposes. A calendar is attached to today’s email of this bulletin if you need a reference of PTA events to log your hours into the VIPS database. All hours must be logged by March 31st.
It was announced at the Council meeting on Thursday that Harwood Junior High won the junior high division of the Book Swap competition once again! Congratulations to Amy Powell for all of her hard work. We had well over 1,000 books donated.
On April 12th, we will be holding a luncheon for our staff and teachers. Please contact Marsha Greeley if you would like to be added to her distribution list to make a donation. Our teachers love your home cooking!
