What to Expect During Steady State & Tunnel Mining > All directions of travel will be open at1st/Alameda

> Intermittent closures at 1st/Alameda intersection for deck panel maintenance

> All tunneling spoil will be removed from Mangrove Yard

> Noise and vibration levels are not expected to be perceptible

> Monitoring plan in place to ensure tunneling work is progressing without impact to adjoining properties (settlement)

What is a Scoping Meeting?

The Scoping Meeting is a part of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) process required for the preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR).

Proposed Division 20 Railyard Improvements

Portal Widening • Existing Subway Portal will be upgraded to accommodate

higher operating speeds and more frequent train operations

Turnback Facility • Additional tracks will be added to the yard to allow more

frequent “turn back” of Red and Purple Line trains that are leaving and re-entering service

• These improvements are a necessary precursor to any future rail transit station in the Division 20 Yard. They will be designed to not preclude a future station at 3rd Street and/or 6th Street.

Project Impacts • All environmental impacts are less than significant after

mitigation • Two properties would be affected:

o Tow Service Yard at Center/Ducommun Streets would be relocated o Sliver of rear lot (Approx 10 ft) from National Cold Storage Property

(currently vacant/for sale)
