Day of Reflection COME UNTO MEDan Schutte
Come unto me all who are weary
And find rest for your soul.
Come to me you who are burdened;
You shall learn from me.
Take my yoke upon your shoulders; do not be afraid.
For I will gently teach you of the ways of the Lord.
Come unto me all who are weary
And find rest for your soul.
Come to me you who are burdened;
You shall learn from me.
I have come not for the strong
but for sinners, frail.
The powerless shall be favoured
in the eyes of the Lord
Come unto me all who are weary
And find rest for your soul.
Come to me you who are burdened;
You shall learn from me.
You shall come to know secret things,
hidden from the wise;
And children shall be rulers in
the land of the Lord .
Come unto me all who are weary

SPIRIT SONG
O let the Son of God enfold youWith His Spirit and His love,Let Him fill your heart and satisfy your soul.
O let Him have the things that hold you,And His Spirit like a dove,Will descend upon your life and make you whole.
Refrain:
O Jesus, O Jesus,Come and fill Your lambs.O Jesus, O Jesus,Come and fill Your lambs.
O come and sing this song with gladness,As your hearts are filled with joy,Lift your hands in sweet surrender to His name;
O give Him all your tears and sadness,Give Him all your years of pain,And you'll enter into life in Jesus' name.
Refrain:
O Jesus, O Jesus,Come and fill Your lambs.O Jesus, O Jesus,Come and fill Your lambs.

THE POWER OF YOUR LOVEWords and music by Geoff Bullock
Lord I come to you
let my heart be changed, renewed
Flowing from the grace
that I found in You
And Lord I’ve come to know
the weaknesses I see in me
Will be stripped away,
by the power of Your love
Hold me close
Let your love surround me
Bring me near
Draw me to your side
And as I wait,
I’ll rise up like an eagle
And I will soar with you
Your Spirit leads me on
In the power of Your love
Lord unveil my eyes
Let me see You face to face
The knowledge of Your love
As You live in me.
Lord renew my mind,
As Your will unfolds in my life
In living everyday
By the power of Your love
Hold me close
Let your love surround me
Bring me near
Draw me to your side
And as I wait,
I’ll rise up like the eagle
And I will soar with you
Your Spirit leads me on
In the power of Your love
And I will soar with you
Your Spirit leads me on
In the power of Your love

FootprintsOne night I dreamed a dream. I was
walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from
my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets
of footprints in the sand, one belonging to
me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed
before me, I looked back at the footprints
in the sand. I noticed that at many times
along the path of my life, especially at the
very lowest and saddest times, there was
only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the
Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow
you, You'd walk with me all the way. But I
noticed that during the saddest and most
troublesome times of my life, there was
only one set of footprints. I don't
understand why, when I needed You the
most, You would leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child, I love
you and will never leave you Never, ever,
during your trials and testings. When you
saw only one set of footprints …
“It was then that I
carried you.”

YOU ARE NEARDan Schutte
Lord, I know You are near, standing always at my side. You guard me from the foe, and You lead me in ways everlasting.
Lord, You have searched my heart, and You know when I sit and I stand.Your hand is upon me protecting me from death - keeping me from harm.
Lord, I know You are near, standing always at my side. You guard me from the foe, and You lead me in ways everlasting.
Where can I run from Your love,if I climb to the heavens You are there;if I fly to the sunrise or sail beyond the sea, still I’d find You there.

You know my heart and its ways,You who formed me before I was bornIn the secret of darkness before I saw the sunIn my mother's womb.
Lord, I know You are near, standing always at my side. You guard me from the foe, and You lead me in ways everlasting.
Marvellous to me are Your works; How profound are Your thoughts, my Lord.Even if I could count them, they number as the stars,You would still be there.

The Last Supper
While they were eating, he took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to them, and said, ‘Take; this is my body.’ Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, and all of them drank from it. He said to them, ‘This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. (Mark 14:22-24)

“So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your
feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
For I have set you an example, that you also
should do as I have done to you.” (John 13:15)
Washing of Feet (John 13:2-15)
And during supper Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going to God, got up from the table, took off his outer robe, and tied a towel around himself. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was tied around him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, ‘Lord, are you going to wash my feet?’ Jesus answered, ‘You do not know now what I am doing, but later you will understand.’ Peter said to him, ‘You will never wash my feet.’ Jesus answered, ‘Unless I wash you, you have no share with me.’ Simon Peter said to him, ‘Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!’ Jesus said to him, ‘One who has bathed does not need to wash, except for the feet, but is entirely clean. And you are clean, though not all of you.’ For he knew who was to betray him; for this reason he said, ‘Not all of you are clean.’ After he had washed their feet, had put on his robe, and had returned to the table, he said to them, ‘Do you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord—and you are right, for that is what I am. So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.

SO YOU MUST DOMarty Haugen
Jesus our teacher and our Lord
Stooped to wash the feet of His disciples
And He told them, this is an example
Just as I have done, so you must do
When Jesus had gathered with those he loved
As a humble servant, he knelt at their feet
Jesus our teacher and our Lord
Stooped to wash the feet of His disciples
And He told them, this is an example
Just as I have done, so you must do
If I, your teacher, have washed your feet
So must you be willing to serve in my name
Jesus our teacher and our Lord
Stooped to wash the feet of His disciples
And He told them, this is an example
Just as I have done, so you must do
A new commandment I give to you
That you love each other as I have loved you
Jesus our teacher and our Lord
Stooped to wash the feet of His disciples

O Mighty CrossO mighty cross
Love lifted high
The Lord of life
Raised there to die
His sacrifice on Calvary
Has made the mighty cross
A tree of life to me
O might cross
What throne of grace
He knew no sin
Yet took my place
His sacrifice on Calvary
Has made the mighty cross
A tree of life to me
O mighty cross
O Christ so pure
Love held Him there
Such shame endured
His sacrifice on Calvary
Has made the mighty cross
A tree of life to me
O mighty cross
My soul's release
The stripes He bore
Have brought me peace
His sacrifice on Calvary
Has made the mighty cross
A tree of life to me

4 Parts of the Easter Vigil
Service of Light
Liturgy of the Word
Liturgy of Baptism
Liturgy of the Eucharist
Service of the Light
Evening begins in an unlit church (darkness)
Priest lights and blesses a new fire.
“Sanctify this new fire holy, we pray, and grant
that, by these paschal celebrations, we may be
so inflamed with heavenly desires"
The Paschal Candle is lit from the new fire.
The Paschal Candle represents the Light of the
risen Christ coming into the world
This Candle is lit each day until the Pentecost
(for the next 7 weeks or 50 days)
The Paschal Candle
The Candle is like the Divine pillar of
cloud and fire that led the Israelites to
freedom out of Egypt. Paschal means
‘Passover’ in Hebrew
A Cross or Chi-Rho – represents Christ
Greek Letters Alpha & Omega - God is
the beginning & the end
The Current Year – God’s presence
here and now
5 Grains of Incense - the 5 wounds
Jesus suffered & the spices placed
with our Lord’s Sacred Body in the tomb
Service of the Light
The Light of Christ from the Easter
Candle is passed on to each person in
the church
The darkness gives way to the Light
Liturgy of the Word
“Now that we have begun our solemn Vigil,
let us listen with quiet hearts to the Word of God.
Let us meditate on how God in times past saved
his people and in these, the last days, has sent
us his Son as our Redeemer."
3 to 7 Readings from the Old Testament are
read – reflecting on our Salvation History
E.g. Exodus 14:15-15:1 Parting of the Red Sea
prefigures Baptism
Each reading is followed by a Psalm and a
prayer

new hope and the new life that He gives
us through the Resurrection of His Son
Jesus Christ.
The whole Church is called to join at the
sacrificial table that Christ prepared for
us through His death & resurrection
The tomb is empty. There is Light in the midst of
our darkness.
We've been fed by the Word and given new life
in the waters of baptism.
We eat his Body and drink his Blood and receive
the life in him that he promises.

Pass It OnIt only takes a spark to get a fire going,
And soon all those around
Can warm up in its glowing;
That's how it is with God's Love,
Once you've experienced it,
You spread His love to everyone
You want to pass it on.
What a wondrous time is spring,
When all the trees are budding
The birds begin to sing,
The flowers start their blooming;
That's how it is with God's love,
Once you've experienced it.
You want to sing, it's fresh like spring,
You want to pass it on.
I wish for you my friend
This happiness that I've found;
You can depend on Him
It matters not where you're bound,
I shout it from the mountain top
I want the world to know
The Lord of love has come to me
I want to pass it on.
I shout it from the mountain top
I want the world to know
The Lord of love has come to me
I want to pass it on.

God’s Chisel
Earthen Vessels …But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our bodies.
For while we live, we are always being given up to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may be made visible in our mortal flesh. So death is at work in us, but life in you. (2 Cor 4:7-12)
