COLUMBIA METROPOLITAN AIRPORT (CAE) CASE STUDY SITUATION The previous equipment vendor stopped supporting the facility’s technological infrastructure. Parking revenue was not being maximized due to a lack of controls. Parking search times were high, leading to on-site congestion and heightened carbon emissions. APPROACH Procured and installed new PARCS and HUB DATAPARK equipment. Introduced a new automatic vehicle identification (AVI) system to facilitate seamless ingress and egress. Used AVI to establish an additional payment option for Preferred Parking Program customers. Introduced new wayfinding and space count systems to direct customers to the spaces closest to their destinations. Developed and implemented more robust revenue control procedures and operational policies. RESULTS Increased revenues by 72% in the first year of operation. Achieved revenue growth of 224% over 15 years. Reduced search time and carbon emissions by enabling customers to locate parking spaces faster. Republic Parking’s staff and executive team have consistently been responsive to our airport’s needs and they have demonstrated a willingness to invest in our facility and operation by bringing forth new technologies, service, and equipment ideas.
