Colorado State Music Teachers Association Mission The Colorado State Music Teachers Association exists to:
• Encourage and advance the standards of teaching and performance. • Enhance the professional status of its members. • Provide a collegial and fraternal relationship among its members. • Foster the advancement of music education in Colorado through relationships with schools
and community organizations.
Facts • 501(c)(3) non-‐profit affiliated to Music Teachers National Association MTNA, • 700+ members in the state of Colorado. Most are independent music teachers, and include
piano, strings, guitar, woodwinds, brass, percussion and voice. • 16 affiliated Local Associations and 3 Collegiate Student Chapters.
Publications • Quarterly Notes & News magazine with articles, ads and news. Available to members online
and mailed to those members who opt in. Published in January, April, July and October. • Conference booklet. Distributed among attendees. Publically available online. • Membership directory, and Student Activity Handbook. Available online.
