Rolling shutterAsCMOSimagesensorsuseshuttersthatcaptureimagesline-by-line,thereisaslighttimedifferencebetweenthetopandbottomofanimage.Asaresult,imagesmayappearskewedifthecameraismoved.
White flecksAlthoughtheCMOSimagesensorsareproducedwithhigh-precisiontechnologies,finewhiteflecksmaybegeneratedonthescreeninrarecases,causedbycosmicrays,etc.ThisisrelatedtotheprincipleofCMOSimagesensorsandisnotamalfunction.
Thewhiteflecksespeciallytendtobeseeninthefollowingcases:•whenoperatingatahighenvironmentaltemperature•whenyouhaveraisedthemastergain(sensitivity)•whenoperatinginSlow-Shuttermode

Thehorizontalangleofviewisapproximately63.7degrees(wideend)to2.3degrees(teleend).DigitalZoomenlargesthecenterofthesubjectbyexpandingeachimageinboththeverticalandhorizontaldirections.When360×zoomisused,thenumberofeffectivepictureelementsineachdirectionreducesto1/12andtheoverallresolutiondeteriorates.

TheAutoFocus(AF)functionautomaticallyadjuststhefocuspositiontomaximisethehighfrequencycontentofthepictureinacentermeasurementarea,takingintoconsiderationthehighluminanceandstrongcontrastcomponents.
-NormalAFModeThisisthenormalmodeforAFoperations.-IntervalAFModeThemodeusedforAFmovementscarriedoutatparticularintervals.ThetimeintervalsforAFmovementsandforthetimingofthestopscanbesetinone-secondincrementsusingtheSetTimeCommand.Theinitialsettingforbothissetto5seconds.-ZoomTriggerModeWhenzoompositionischanged,itbecomesAFmodeduringthepre-setvalue(initialsettingissetto5seconds).Thenitstops.

Spot Exposure ModeInFullAutoAE,thelevelfortheentirescreeniscomputedandtheoptimumAutoIrisandGainlevelsaredetermined.InSpotAE,aparticularsectionofthesubjectcanbedesignated,andthenthatportionoftheimagecanbeweightedandavaluecomputedsothatIrisandGaincanbeoptimizedtoobtainanimage.Forexample,inanimagewithalotofmovementandwithvaryinglevelsofbrightness,portionswithoutmuchchangecanbedesignatedassucha“spot,”andchangestothescreencanbeminimizedinthatarea.Asshowninthediagrambelow,arangeof16blocksverticallyand16blockshorizontallycanbedesignated.Inthecasewherethecenterisdesignated(showninblack),theleveliscomputedalongwithaweightedvalueforthesurroundingblock(shaded),includingthespecifiedportions;andthentheGainandIrisareset.Thevalueofthedesignatedportionsandthesurroundingareasshouldbecalculatedas100%,therestshouldbesetto20%.TherangeoftheSpotAEframeisfixedto5blocksverticallyand4blockshorizontally.

Slow AE (Auto Exposure)
TheslowAEResponsefunctionallowsyoutoreducetheexposureresponsespeed.Usuallythecameraissetupsothattheoptimumexposurecanbeobtainedautomaticallywithinabout1second.However,usingtheslowAEresponsefunctionallowsyoutolengthentheautoexposureresponsespeedfromtheinitialsetupspeed(01h)toapprox.10minutes(30h)(atnormalshutterspeed).Forexample,withthenormalsetting(about1second),iftheheadlightsofacararecaughtbythecamera,thecameraautomaticallyadjuststheexposuresothatitcanshootahigh-intensitysubject(inthiscase,theheadlights).Asaresult,imagesaroundtheheadlights,thatis,therestofthesubject,excepttheheadlights,becomesrelativelydark,andpoorlydistinguished.However,usingtheslowAEfunctionmeanstheAEresponsespeedwillbeslower,andresponsetimewillbelonger.Asaresult,evenifthecameracatchesahigh-intensitysubject(e.g.,theheadlights)foramoment,youcanstilleasilydistinguishtheportionsoftheimagesurroundingtheheadlights.
High Resolution Mode
Thismodeenhancesedgesandproduceshigherdefinitionimages.
Aperture Control
Aperturecontrolisafunctionwhichadjuststheedgeenhancementofobjectsinthepicture.Thereare16levelsofadjustment,startingfrom“noenhancement.”Whenshootingtext,thiscontrolmayhelpbymakingthemsharper.
Backlight Compensation
Whenthebackgroundofthesubjectistoobright,orwhenthesubjectistoodarkduetoshootingintheAEmode,backlightcompensationwillmakethesubjectappearclearer.
Visibility Enhancer (VE)
Dependingontheimagingscene,theVisibilityEnhancerfunctionmakesthedarkerpartofacameraimagebrighter,andautomaticallycorrectbrightnessandcontrasttoshowbrightpartsclearly.
