The College of Slavonski Brod is a public institution and carries out the activities of higher education

through the organization and conduct of professional studies and can carry out professional and scientific

activities.

The Government of Republic of Croatia established College of Slavonski Brod (CSB) in 2006.

In 2016 Agency for Science and Higher Education performed external audit of CSB quality assurance

system and awarded Certificate of quality. Only 17 HEI (out of 131 in Republic of

Croatia) have that certificate.

Erasmus Charter for Higher Education from 2011.

The learning outcomes of all study programs are tailored to the needs of the profession and the

needs of the economy and the labour market.

Linking with high-quality business subjects in terms of student internships or joint projects or

lifelong learning programs is also a guarantee for the quality of education and employability of the

student.

Collaboration with the economy and institutions represents a way of further enhancing the quality

of the teaching process and the outcomes of the study and elements of visibility and recognition of

the College of Slavonski Brod.

By exchange of knowledge and technology between the private sector and the College of

Slavonski Brod, CSB aims to strengthen the skills and competencies of all participants

• Students enrolled in the study program of Plant Production,

choosing one of the programs, gain knowledge in almost all

branches of agricultural production, in particular knowledge

that is required for food production and accompanying

production as well as for managing of natural resources

necessary for development of rural and urban space.

• The study program is based on the latest global scientific and

professional knowledge and is conducted through lectures,

exercises, seminars and professional practice.

• The proposed study program is structured and performed

comparable to studies in the European Union and the world.

As such, it is performed in two specializations:

▪ Horticulture - a branch of plant production and scientific

discipline that deals with the study of vegetable,

floriculture and fruit growing - grapevine cultivation and

landscaping.

▪ Farming - a branch of plant production and scientific

discipline that deals with the study and breeding of

cereals, industrial plants and fodder crops.

• Professional graduate study program is a continuation of

undergraduate study program (180 ECTS) and is foreseen to

last for two years (120 ECTS).

• The study is conducted as a regular study of 4 semesters (2

years) and upon completion (together with the undergraduate

study program) a minimum of 300 ECTS is obtained.

• Individual teaching consists of two semesters, during winter

and summer. After completing a certain semester, the student

may, under fulfilled conditions provided in the study program,

take a pre-scheduled certain exams which are accordingly and

timely publicly advertised on the notice board and on the

College web site.

• The study program is flexible so students may choose between

the offered elective subjects during the 1st, 2nd and 3rd

semester. In order to be as prepared as possible for the labour

market, the student is performing a professional practice during

the 4th semester.

• During the study program of production engineering,

acquired knowledge and skills enable performance of expert

activities and direct involvement into the work process in

areas such as product design, production preparation,

production process, product quality control, maintenance of

machinery and equipment as well as environmental

protection.

• Students are trained to design simple constructions and

tools, to use CAD software tools, to program CNC

machining, material selection, appliance of modern

production technologies and production logistical support.

• The study program is regularly analyzed and conformed to

the needs of the economy and to the latest achievements in

technical area.

• As part of the exercises from individual studies, professional

visits to relevant companies are organized regularly so that

students can see practical themes which are being

processed in theoretical teaching.

• Energetics and Energy flows Management nowadays

represent areas that are a real engineering challenge in the

context of exhaustion of conventional energy resources,

introduction of new energy technologies and the use of

renewable energy resources, ever increasing demands on

energy performance and fighting against climate changes.

Increasing of energy efficiency is one of the goals of Energy

Reform Strategy of the Republic of Croatia.

• A number of existing laws and regulations emphasize that

efficient use of energy and security of energy supply is in the

interest of the Republic of Croatia as well as the appliance of

renewable energy resources. This is how environmental

protection is being performed and CO2 emissions are

reduced.

• The conditions for enrollment in the Professional Graduate

Study Program in Energetics are minimum undergraduate

study program completed in the field of Technical Sciences

(180 ECTS) and the fulfilment of the conditions defined by the

enrollment competition. Professional Graduate Study Program

in Energetics deals with the mentioned issues and lasts four

semesters (120 ECTS).

• The main principle of the professional undergraduate study

program in Management is to educate economists (bachelors)

for various professional affairs in business subjects, in light of

openness of the Croatian economy, during the period of six

semesters. Upon completion of the professional study

program student will be able to:

• define and solve various problems in economics, finance,

accounting, marketing, organization, quantitative methods,

statistics and computer science apply the necessary

knowledge about methods of economic analysis on business

problems in order to make decisions for their solution in

small and medium-sized enterprises

• apply the necessary knowledge about methods and

techniques of economic analysis on business problems in

order to make decisions for their solution in small and

medium-sized enterprises

• apply acquired basic knowledge about management of a

company or professional work related to issues of general

management, marketing, finances or accounting

continuation of undergraduate study program that lasts for

two years, enabling vertical and horizontal student mobility.

Upon completion of the professional graduate study program

in Management, student is able to:

• use specialized knowledge on management of individual

manage costs on the basis of analysis and decision

methods

• position a company in the global economy through
