Opened in 2011, Cin Cin is one of Barbados' most fashionable restaurants. You dine either in a ferociously air-conditioned room with a view of the sea through a wall of giant glass windows, or on an open-air terrace over the ocean.

Larry Rogers has had several other successful Barbados restaurants, and his dishes are inventive, with lots of interesting combinations on the plate. A starter might be fried gnocchi with strips of jerk pork in a sweet pea sauce, a main course battered king fish fillets with grilled asparagus, roasted peppers and a tomato and mushroom salad. Larry's wife Michelle really fusses over diners. The trendy bar does nibbles as well as drinks.

On the ship the people were treated like animals. When Aminala hears Biton say her name, she feels human again, she has hope for the future.

BIOGRAPHYBorn January 20, 1944Heidi had four years of art instructing with Canadian artist, Karl Kronlachener. and independent studies in Paris, France. Heidi also holds a PhD in German literature from the University of Waterloo.

After a career which includes running Galerie Berger for Canadian Native Art in Frankfurt and Hamburg, Germany and teaching at several universities (Waterloo, Alberta and Calgary), she returned to creating art full-time.

Heidi has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions in Canada, the United States and Barbados, most recently at the Gallery of Caribbean Art. Here works have own awards in the USA and Canada. She teaches workshops in Canada and Barbados. Her paintings are found in private and corporate collections in Canada, USA, Germany, Denmark, Russia, Italy, France, UK, South Africa and the Caribbean.

She has lived and worked in Canada, France, Germany, Mexico. Heidi and her family have been returning to Barbados for more than 30 years. She and her husband now divide their time between their homes in Canada and Barbados.

She evokes past times of the Caribbean with her art and has a faithful following as most of her pieces are gentle, almost bordering on sensual with her use of colours.

Draughtsmanship is important to Heather-Dawn and many a time she will draw with a paint brush rather than a pencil and on looking closely at her work you can see this.F

Her "Tropical Monkeys", (acrylic on canvas), is featured on the cover of the 2013 edition of the Ins and Outs of Barbados magazine.
