CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION DEFINED

• An educational model that formally integrates academic studies with relevant work experience

• Co-op students alternate terms of school with paid work in relevant fields year round

• Typically four months of school followed by four months of work

• Students compete for jobs; employers compete for talent• Co-op students graduate with up to two years of work

experience• Better prepared to move into the workplace
