MARCH 1, 2013 PAGE 1 Co- Curricular Connection Spanish with Señora Hartman Pre K3' 1st We’ve covered several topics so far this year, so we took the month of Febrero to review numbers, colors, classroom objects, months of the year, foods, and animals. We also enjoyed a small card making activity for El Dia de San Valentin! Pre K4 helped me to count how many vocabulary words we knew as a class; there were 75+ words! We are certainly learning and growing rapidamente together! 2 nd '3 rd This month we learned how to ask questions about basic information and responding appropriately. We reviewed past questions and learned new ones such as: Como te llamas? Cual es tu direccion? Cuantos anos tienes? Cual es tu numero de telefono? De donde eres? Cuantos hermanos tienes? Como se llama tu escuela? Como se llama tu maestra? Cual es tu clase favorita? We also began our unit on La Comunidad and the people in la comunidad. Vocabulario: la iglesia, la escuela, el parque, la tienda, el museo, la casa, el restaurante, la biblioteca. Do any of these places in the community in Spanish sound similar to our vocabulary in English? These words are called cognates, words that sound like words we use in English and generally mean the same thing in Spanish. We also enjoyed a brief activity for El Dia de San Valentin! 4 th '5 th We covered a similar curriculum as that written above, as well as an extension of our lessons with AR verbs. This month, we had our Pirst quiz over AR verbs and are continuing to work on our conjugations each class. Our newest assignment is a mini project in class. Students are working in groups to present one AR verb, dePine and conjugate the verb, and present it in a creative way to the class! This will dePinitely be muy divertido!
